What's not to like! That's the essence of an 80's power ballad right there!
OK, so that video is pretty awful, but I still miss the 80s...

White Lion had some cool tunes...Vito Bratta was a terrific, melodic guitarist.
they did not skimp on the reverb on that track

I really liked that, I haven't listened to White Lion before. I'd say one of the better 80's rock bands by the sounds of it.

Yep, what this guy said. A lot of people thought he was an EVH copy, and yeah he did a lot of tapping, but his solos were VERY melodic. He was very fleet fingered as well and just had a bad ass attitude to his solos. My faves:
Little Fighter
Hungry
Radar Love
Wait
For me WL was all about Vito, one of the few great melodic players to come out of the
80's with any real sense of composition

no doubt about it. fight to survive & pride are very very good records with some spectacular guitar work. i was able to see them three times out in support of pride. bratta was jawdropping. he made everything look so effortless & ho hum. he's the only guitarist i've ever seen to not break a sweat in an arena setting.

Dig Vito, don't dig (and never did) the vocals. Lillllllll fighter. Wait, I never had a chance to lllllllllluv you. Urg. :facepalm
There were a lot of bands from then I just tolerated because I could focus on the guitarists. White Lion was one of them. Just my opinion.
And yes, I was there in the 80's when this all happened. Ratt N Roll 4-ever!!!!! :D

I won free tickets to see them at Harpos in Detroit shortly before their first album came out. Did't really dig it much but but was free and Harpos was always an experience back then.
I remember Mike Tramp's brother, who came down to the lounge I was playing in a bunch of times while they were on a little break (had to be '88). He was a very funny guy, lots of energy and we had a blast for a week.
As far as WL, I never really gave them a chance--the hair band thing was over for me a few years earlier.

Vito was great, Mike Tramp not so much.

I remember being really into White Lion/Vito Bratta when they first came out. The hooks and Vito's saturated tone with such clear distinct intonation.
Kind of embarrassing now though, cringeworthy vocalist.
I can say for certain that the first time I heard the "Wait" solo (MTV), my head spun right around, and said "holy crap". That was one of those moments to me. It just sounded like nothing else.
