I have a MacBook Pro and I need a new laptop that is Windows based as some of the things I need to do will not work on a Mac (such as viewing dashcam videos by a particular company, etc.).
I don't need many bells and whistles. I'd like it to be as light as and portable possible, it must have a CD-Rom drive and not too expensive.
Many of the ones at my local BestBuy seem very thick and clunky. I'd like to get something a little more light and sleek.
Thanks.

Toshiba
I have a friend who is a repairman. Never sees them....
Dell's? Stacked to the ceiling.
Can't you just use Parallels or Bootcamp on your Mac? That's what I do. Works like a charm.

Was gonna recommend parallels as well.
My brother has a toshiba, rock solid one year in, but he knows his way around the windows OS VERY well (yes, I attribute longevity on pcs to that as much, if not more than components).
My wife's HP has been okay. Still works but quirky occasionally.

I got a HP Pavilion DM-4 last weekend and I'm really happy with it so far. Fast, light, very quiet, stylish, not a lot of bloatware, very nice screen, and the speakers are not too bad (not great but better than most laptop speakers).

this is my second week on a new lenovo v570 from best buy. I like it a lot. Came with a sandy bridge i5, 750GB hard drive, and 6GB ram, 15.5 screen...nice display, super quick response, enough memory/hp for some newer music programs. 599 plus 20 bucks off for signing up for BB card.
