I sure hope my incoming time & mod factor pedals can replace a bunch of smaller pedals on my board: vibe, trem, digi delay, verb,... so, am I spitting into the wind or does this have a shot? I guess in another week or so I'll know. I'm hoping........

I love my modfactor and have thought numerous times about a timefactor as well.

Vibe, trem and digi delay can be replaced with those two. Verb might be a little tough depending on your needs. The multitap on the Eventide is good for simulating a reverb, but not as smooth as a dedicated unit. Have you considered getting a Strymon Timeline instead of the Timefactor? It does reverb/spacey things better than the TF can in my opinion (I've got and currently use both).

I have the ModFactor, PitchFactor and Eclipse. They sound good, but I find they soften or deaden my sound slightly... more dark or muffled... I lose that bite in my tone, which is OK with acoustic and softer rock, but not with edgier stuff.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. If you want it to sound just like your pedals, you'll be disappointed, but if you happy with clean, digital effects, you might like it.

I sold my TimeFactor in favor of a Empress Super Delay (I had both the regular and Vintage Modified, both of which sounded better than the TimeFactor to me). I also got an El Capistan and Brigadier for their unique sounds. Now I've got a TimeLine and the VMSD, El Cap, and Brig will all be going up for sale since for me, The TimeLine does everything I need.

I had the ModFactor up for sale, but didn't have luck selling it (unless I were to drop the price more than I was willing to at the time). I recently pulled it out of its box to try again, and though it's cool in it's own right, I prefer my dedicated modulation pedals, especially chorus and phaser. Hopefully Strymon will come out with a ModLine to fulfill all my mod needs.

After extensive tweaking & testing, I put together an all Eventide pedalboard (Mod, Time, & Space) to replace an 11 pedal rig that sounded great BUT was ridiculous when it came to stepping on 4 different stompboxes when a chorus or verse or solo came up!

In all honesty - the Factors are truly amazing units, you MUST spend time with them to get the most out of them. Will they NAIL the tones of your classic analog FX? No, BUT they will get you closer than you think, plus give you fantastic options & tweaks that you could never get from an analog stomper. They are all World-Class units.

As others have stated, the highlights are: Rotary (possibly the best & most realistic made next to the H&K Rotosphere), Undulator (incomparable - simply amazing!!!), Tremolo

What I did was A/B the Modfactor with my analog stompboxes to get as close as possible to those tones - (CE-1, MXR Phase 90 & 45) and came up with versions that sound good enough to make me not miss having 'em on the board.

The Chorus on the ModFactor may be the weakest link, but it CAN be tweaked to sound very good to my ears - especially in Shimmer and Organic modes. Run the mix low, so it doesn't take over the sound, and keep the speed low and depth up. Sounds sweet & classy, especially in front of a good overdriven amp or an OCD.

Biggest bonus (and there are TONS of bonuses) is hooking them all up together via MIDI so when you select a preset on the ModFactor pedal, it changes the Programs on TimeFactor and Space!!! The equivalent of having a rack system, but on the floor, with amazing sound quality!

I could care less about the 'Delay of the Week' - Timefactor holds its own in real life (recording, touring, gigging, etc.). How many pros have Timelines in their rigs? EXACTLY.

I've had the combo for a while and love it. I'll be parting with it to pay some bills soon, I will most definitely miss the pair! Incredible pedals!

:agree 100% . After reading all the threads here slamming the Modfactor, I have to say this pedal CAN get very close to the analog classics if you spend the time. Also:
You can limit the banking range
You can make or buy a 3 button aux switch
Cioks DC-10 can power THREE factor pedals.
