I'm asking on behalf of a buddy with a Mackie powered 3-way PA speaker that's apparently not sounding right. He's not sure if the problem is one of the speakers, cross-over or amp. He's spoken to Westech, I guess, but said they were going to take two or three months. And he told me that Orange County Speaker doesn't do this kind of work, so they're out too, apparently.

Got a recommendation on another shop that does this kind of work?

Leon - without a doubt, Armand Blake at AMPWERX Repair
1935 E. 7th St.
Long Beach, CA 90813
ampwerx@surfside.net (ampwerx@surfside.net)
562-591-1423 - Ph.
562-591-1025 - Fx.
in the same building as Gilmore Music (http://www.gilmoremusicstore.com/electronic_repairs.htm)

He fixed by long discontinued Hughes and Kettner CF-200 stereo power amp which had incorrect schematics posted on the internet. He knows electronics that well and has a hugh resource of schematics and years of experience fixing stuff (probably doesn't even need schematics, he's that good). AND his prices are very fair!

Ah...you know I've heard of them...I think someone at World of Strings recommended them to me once. Many thanks, I'll pass this on to my friend.
