This is pretty cool! I have never heard of it, but there is some amazing athleticism.

That was pretty cool. Wish I was that agile and strong.

My son and I just finished watching it. I had never heard of either, but we were both crushed when the last competitor fell.

I watched a little-never saw it before. It looks tough, but it's kind of hard to gauge how tough that stuff is without trying it, like sliding down the cables holding the bar between them. Kind of like a much harder version of Wipeout.

How does it compare to the Japaneese version? I do love that show. Does it have the same mix of serious and fun contestants? Like the Japaneese version, is there any hope in hell of anyone completing it?

^they were all serious, only the 10 finalist. One of them had the course built in his backyard. He got the furthist, but still lost on the Ultimate Cliffhanger, which looks insane (no American has beaten it).
I was pulling for the young guy, but he was too big in the end. I'm glad that masked punk went out early.

How does it compare to the Japaneese version? I do love that show. Does it have the same mix of serious and fun contestants? In the first tryout show (100 contestants) many of them were "fun" type amateurs but they didn't make it to the semi-finals.
Great show.
I like the way that anyone can compete and that it's really a matter of will and upper body strength, not just brute force. As a result, unlike many sports, the biggest guy isn't necessarily the best.

Sadly, G4 Canada strips NW and ANW from their schedule.
I miss Sasuke and Kunoichi. :(

I missed it, dang!!
My 6 year old daughter lives it. We also make a crazy obstacle course in the living room during commercials.

I'd love to try it but I know I wouldn't make it half way..

I thought they did a good job of recreating the Japanese course in the US ...
Only 2 or 3 guys have finished the Japanese course IIRC
The announcer banter and the goofball participants are a little more subdued tham the Japanese version ... but it's still good

No.
Damn, I thought he was going to make it. Sucks they have to wait another year to try again.

Only one guy best stage 2, but he best the cliffhanger, so that's progress.

I loved the original too. Watching an entire show where noone makes it to the next round. Seemed like a big F U to the normal TV we have in 'murica...

I luv that show, very entertaining.
He beat the cliffhanger! Great show.
The obstacles make these great athletes look pedestrian. Very humbling indeed.
Why not make the prize $10M? Nobody is going to collect and 1000's of volunteers lining up to try. I hope its safe. Some of those falls looked frightening.
