Does anyone have pictures of any sweet pedal boards? My goal here is to gather some inspiration by which to construct my own board. I'm talking about serious effect junkies/innovators like Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Micheal Einziger of Incubus, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (circa At the Drive-In would be borderline erotic), Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, Trey Anastasio of Phish, Dave Knudson of Minus the Bear, Greg Hill of MuteMath, or any of the guys in Radiohead. I listen to everything so throw in whatever you got. :worthless

I saw MuteMath last weekend and the new guy had some cool sounding effects. I could not get close enough to snap a pic but I would like to know what he was using.

The MuteMath guys are rocking quite a few JHS pedals these days.

The pic quality certainly isn't good, but the sounds it makes are! Of course I like this pedal board, since I made it and all. I'm putting it up because I'm a big QOTSA fan as well, and my board is very Homme inspired. I say inspired because I'm not trying to cop his sound, but I use it as a frame of reference, sort of. Mike McCready (especially in Mad Season), Greg Ginn (Black Flag) and of course Tony Iommi are also big influences on me. See my sig for the signal chain.

I love the memory boy/memory toy combo (I cascade them for a reverb type effect), but I will likely be knocking one off the board for a DM-2 later this week.

To the OP: What pedals are you working with right now?

Uhh well I don't have a great setup right now since I don't have a ton of money to blow on equipment at the moment. Gibson SG -> Boss Tuner -> Zakk Wylde Crybaby -> Mantra Overdrive -> Little Big Muff -> Boss EQ -> Boss Phaser (with EXP pedal) -> Small Clone -> Memory Man Deluxe -> really shitty amp combo

Sounds like a great setup to me. Nice guitar and pedals, sounds like you need to focus on upgrading your amp more so than your pedal board. You could cover a lot of ground with those pedals.

+1. Decent gear that gets the job done, thats the ticket, so upgrade the amp mate, thats the next logical step.

Well heres the thing. I am in the process of purchasing a really sweet VOX AC30 so the amp is takin care of. I'm not really worrying about what pedals to get niext I just enjoy seeing other peoples set ups especially those of my favorite artists because I know what kind of sounds they can make. Its not that I'm trying to uprade the set up really soon I just get a kick out of setup pics. I just thought I could use this for future reference if I was in the market for a new pedal and what not.

Doesn't live up to TGP standards. Probably spends more time making music than a/b ing boutique "transparent" overdrives.

If only there was a thread where you could look at hundreds of pedalboards. Like maybe one where people on a big gear forum posted their current pedalboards and talked about them...

Yeah, I've seen Greg's board in the past (seen them 7 or 8 times live now, haha). Always admired his tone, and I love how he gets all his overdrive from his amps. I miss his playing a lot in that band. I was just wondering what the new guy and Roy are using nowadays.

I know Roy used to rock just a big muff, DE-7, and DD-5 while using his ampeg for most of his grit. I'm wondering which JHS pedals he's using.

Yeah the thing is, they use a boat load of synths and a lot of their crazy sounds come from those + the fact that they are jumping all over the board with their instruments. I kinda guessed that he'd only be using some delay pedals and such, but its interesting nonetheless.

Like someone said, that's the old guitarist. Kinda sad Greg is gone though. He was very minimal as far as his guitar parts go, i loved it.

I know, but thats why I'm not terribly bummed that he left. This isn't a band where guitars were all that important to the overall sound since they pretty much all work together. He won't be THAT hard to follow up and I think having the other three do the guitar parts will make them tighter as a band since they will be that much more involved with the music.

Dave Knudson is definitely an 'innovator'. In incorporating more DL-4s than any one person needs, anyway. ;)
