If I see a thread about "The Best Tremolo Ever!!" I'm not going to read it. I don't use tremolo pedals, and I don't care too much which is the best.

If you see a thread that says, "Show me your Praise and Worship boards", if you don't care anything about Praise and Worship, don't even open it. Why would you? If you enter a thread with the only intention being to stir things up, or get the thread deleted, you are the problem, not the thread itself.

Perhaps I was wrong to post in the LGBT thread, and I apologize, but this place has taken a turn for the worst. When I joined, not too long ago, this was a friendly place to discuss pedals from all genre's, recently, everyones just become so negative about things like this. It's sad.

I'm very new, but I find mostly friendly and informative posts here. I ignore negative posts, as well as ones that don't interest/involve me. That said, I just realized what you're talking about within the last 5 minutes. I also posted in that thread, and then I caught on to what it really was. I don't believe that is the spirit of TGP, but it is sad that its here. I would be upset if someone posted on my thread just to antagonize me. Golden rule, very simple.

I am still a bit confused about the other thread. I do not know if this thread is in at all a response to my comments in the other thread, but I want to reiterate that I was honestly asking what the thread was referring to and not at all intending to antagonize. If I was misunderstood, I truly apologize. I come from somewhere where LGBT is very accepted and I got to a Doc program at a school that is all women in undergrad so many of my peer-students identify as LGBT. I honestly think it is more offensive that it is so unacceptable that someone could start a thread about that - was it a joke to refer to P&W? Is it actually another type of P&W that I hadn't heard of? Again, I was just asking.

Honestly, if this HEAVILY MODERATED website displays enough "aggression" to upset you, I can't imagine the offline world in which you live. Maybe I lead an exceptionally aggressive existence...?

Could be all the bad vibes I attract playing LGBT music, who knows.

Never used the word aggression. I live in the same world you do. I can have a more friendly conversation with an atheist at GC about my P&W board than I can here. And that's sad.

I completely understand. You obviously were just asking, that's been made clear. It is not a type of P&W, that I can tell you.

@Heady Jam Fan: Of course I may be wrong, as I am not the OP, but it seems to me that he was mocking the P&W threads. Maybe its really a thread about LGBT musicians, and if so, it should be respected. But I think its a poke at the P&W guys. Whatever.

Clarification, he is talking about the OP of the LBGT thread, not me.

You may be right, I still dont know. In the other thread, someone mentioned the OP plays P&W, but I dont know him. I am aware that some religious people are less accepting of LGBT, so I guess I just hope it is not a jab at that. I cannot say I would be extremely offended personally, but it would be unfortunate I guess. But you said it well - whatever!

ok so i'm a worship leader at my local church. When I read the other thread, I was excited to see it because (being new to TGP) it was neat to see what other guys are using in their rig. I don't feel like the OP was pushing religion onto anyone, I feel it was a honest thread from an individual wanting to gain knowledge into an area of music and how you can incorporate different kinds of gear to fit that style of music. How is that different than any other post on here? Isn't that what we're all looking for? Trying to find different kinds of gear to get to that sound we're after? I don't see what all the fuss was about.

If it is, it is. The same could be said about the mere presence of a P&W thread on a public forum. To some the sight of "praise, worship, christian music" is just as offensive as an individual dropping f-bombs and slurs in random threads.

But I believe you said it best at the end, Whatever.

I THINK it was cuz the tittle was misleading. I have no problem with those who like that genre or any other, nor do I think he was pushing it on anyone. However, before I was on TGP, there was apparently a lot of religious talk more along the lines of discussing and preaching religion rather than music, so the moderators made a line between the two and there is a second worship forum.

I think we are definitely all looking to learn about our favorite genres and hopefully a few others too.

:agree and someone can avoid a thread titled P&W if it happens to bother them.

It isn't so much the fact that it had no harm...

to people who are not religious it is a trolling topic.

It is mentioned in several places in TGP policy that religion isn't a topic for the forums.

I know he didn't want to start a religious topic, but let's face it. It's kind of like going into a PETA forum and talking about who's got the best steak in town. It's going to attracted unwanted attention, it's going to flameout, and it's going to cause a lock.

Very respectfully put. In this case, if no one was preaching anything, why can't we all just get along? :banana

great forum btw . . .i agree with your statements for the most part although i don't think the thread was in violation of TGP policy. If religion offends you as much as a member of PETA viewing a thread on the best steak in town haha then do us all a favor and don't look at it

Religion doesn't bother me, as I am religious. It isn't as simple as "don't look at it" I'm saying it's a TROLL topic for those who do not want to see it. It's someone dancing on the rules, knowingly or not.

The thread wasn't in violation, no. It's the more debate that takes places because of the topic it started and then someone slanders one side or the other with it that makes it a violation in the end.

I just showed up and have no pony in this race, but the OP seems somewhat hypocritical to say "if you don't have an interest in P&W threads do not open it" yet he has obviously done same in the LGBT thread.

I can't wait to see what's left of these threads by morning!

I apologized for that. I realize I messed up there. I'm not trying to lose credit here, but as a P&W artist, among other types, I would like to be able to discuss gear with other P&W artists, without the thread being ruined. I was hoping that this argument would NOT carry over to the BGLT thread, but unfortunately, it did. I'm sorry for trouble I've caused tonight. If all the arguments moved here, so that the P&W thread could continue on about gear, and so could the BGLT, that'd be great.

I just wanted to say hello.
