ok, heres what Im doing. My rig is going to be stereo into a blues deluxe and a marshall class 5. Im goign to use the class 5 as a dirty amp and want to keep an OD after the A/B/Y box to keep the amp overdriven and control volume. My Main OD is the T1M pearl and before that it was a BBE green screamer and a bog box rat. I had that setup for a while and never had to shop for another OD.

So make a suggestion. Dont really wanna go much over $100, $150 is the ceiling. Not too concerned about it being boutique, but just want something a little different. Someone recommended the Joyo vintage OD which is only like $40, so that looks cool right now. What do yall think???

get a booster and slam the v1 of the amp. the amp's tube od is pretty good.

A good treble booster into the C5 is hard to beat.

Agree 100%. I use one with a germanium in it and the class 5 loves it. IMO the small British combo amps, Vox Marshall, take a treble boost to get the best out of them. To me it sounds like a heavy blanket is covering the sound without the boost.

Analogman Beano Boost - probably the best out there.

There are tons of mods out there for the C5, too. There's a master volume mod - that may just do the trick to get some more push out of your amp at bedroom volume. I plan on doing that with mine!

I tried a tube screamer, OCD v3, Boss OD-3, Modified Boss Blues Driver, Fulldrive v1, MXR Classic Overdive, and several fuzzes. My recommendation is the MXR Classic Overdrve with the volume turned up to 3:00, gain turned down to 9:00, and tone at 11:00. Sounds great with my tele, and with the tone up to noon sounds great with my les paul. I would imagine a treble booster would sound top notch with this amp also.
