The rules:

You must make some kind of totally positive and uplifting comment. Something really good that happened or is happening to you right now... no negativity allowed (on this thread) and no debates! Ready? I'll start.

I'm about to go run a few errands in the rain with my son. Just dad and son together for an hour or two. My son is awesome... so this means total joy!

I'm enjoying another perfect day in paradise.

Can't wait to go out for a quick walk across the street to pick up a couple things from the drugstore.

Work is good, I have lots to do but not too much, my pedal just got fixed (for cheap) and I'm going to drive to Santa Monica Saturday to pick it up. I might just go down to the beach while I'm there.

Love it!

I got back into college this semester and I am REALLY stoked about it. Took some time off to be young and stupid, stupidly procrastinated about registering... And got the perfect schedule and all the classes I want. Literally registered for my classes and had to be at my first one a half hour after I completed enrollment and paying for it!!!! I really love all my classes (especially Western Civilization II!) and it doesn't even interfere with my work schedule. How awesome is that? I am a lucky person. I've had to over-come some things these past few months, but honestly I feel very lucky and blessed this has worked out so well for me. Now if I could only afford my books!!!

I just ate five fantastic chicken tacos from a local hole-in-the-wall jernt in Va. There are three homemade salsas to choose from and a mix of pickled onions/carrots that I eat on the side. Mexican Cokes & Jarritos if you want them, but I stick with ice water.

Flew my 81 year old mom in from Boston this past weekend. She hadn't been out this way for about 6 years because of health issues. She wanted to come out one last time so we made it happen. She got to see her grandson's new puppy, visit where her granddaughter works, have a really nice dinner with all of us, my daughter's fiance, and his parents who she knew from Facebook but had never met.

It was tough because of all of the traveling around with wheelchairs and walkers, but she had the time of her life. Her last day here she and I sat together and watched Avatar - which blew her away.

She's safely back home and still basking in the afterglow.

I'm cooking dinner tonight for my insanely gorgeous and amazingly loving wife, the inlaws - whose company I actually enjoy, and my mom is stopping by as well. Lots of laughs, food, wine, and dogs.

Everyone lets me pick the music, which could be anything from Miles Davis and Joe Pass to Radiohead or Band of Horses.

Just got together with an old friend yesterday. After battling back from addictions, mental health issues, and just recently having had his cancerous prostate removed he figures he's in the best frame of reference since he was 10. I agree, and was very happy to see him so at peace.

Here is our youngest granddaughter waking up - her full throttle nature makes us smile. Maybe if we all woke up making elephant noises the world would be a little happier place...

Synchronicity abounds: I met a South African gal at the end of July. Every day we Skype and spend an hour or more continuing to build rapport. This has allowed us quite the warm connection and bond. It's all of a grand invitation. Showing up for each other has been our general theme... this, without saying so or directly having to make any deal over things at all. We just do this as a matter of course.

This week I was able to use long accumulated air miles and book a ticket to spend 9 weeks with her Dec thru early Feb in Queensland. What a gift to receive someone in this way and experience that she's so naturally someone I seem to get on that well with. How winning to discover someone who genuinely seems to appreciate me just as I am. Even better, that she's someone who wants what I have to offer. It's all well and good to want to give and put it over. But to discover someone who also wants what you got? > Not a regular occurrence.

Sweetness that I could also finesse the return ticket to the antipodes so as to also be able to spend 10 days in NZ... in the heart of their summer... and all this using an earned miles ticket.

NO complaints here. 'I musta done sumpin' good.'

A little over a year ago, we rescued a feral cat who was hanging around the house. It was a long time taming him, and I've got some scars, but now he's so affectionate he's almost a nuisance. I really get a kick out of it when this great big battlescarred cat hops up in my lap, rolls over on his back and purrs as loud as he can.

For a long time, I've been practicing through a squatty little practice amp. Finally decided, bag that, and started jacking into one of vintage tube amps. Lovin the tones! Don't play any better, but I do love the tones.

Great thread. I just moved into a great new neighborhood that is literally like going back in time. We got a great deal on the house too.

I'm in a rural part of Litchfield County Connecticut, on a cul-de-sac. The subdivision has maybe 20 houses and at least 15 of them are filled with children @ my sons' ages (5 and 11yo). My 11 year old will be in a class with 13 children, my 5yo will be in a class with 12 children. Where we used to live there were no kids withing walking distance for them to play with.

The kids in the neighborhood go around in gangs from one house to another, and everyone seems to get along. This is one reason it is like going back in time. Another is there are many people who have chickens, horses, cows, barns, tractors, big gardens, etc.

There is a guy who lives right across the street who's band practices there, and was practicing last Tuesday until @ 11:30 pm w/o issues. There is a bass player and another guitarist there too.

The biggest reason it was like going back in time was there were 1/2 dozen kids hanging out in out in our yard and one of them introduced the three kids I did not know (a 10 yo introducing other kids?!?!) and one of them was the son of the guitar player from across the street. I asked if he played. He said "I play drums", another kid said "I play guitar, and I want to take lesson from Jake's dad. He rocks". Another child said to him, "I can show you how to play "Smoke on the Water", Alex showed me and I play really well. I'm getting a bass for Christmas"!

Smoke on the Water? Really? Is it on Guitar Hero or something!?!? LOL! It was a conversation you could have heard 30 years ago where I grew up.

Just got an e-mail from a friend I've known since 1973. He was writing to tell me he just got his 30 year-old Les Paul (which, in 30 years, has never had any setup or fret work done) back from a repair shop I recommended to him. The shop re-fretted the guitar, set it up, and took care of most of the cosmetic issues, i.e., dings, scratches, etc., for him.

Dude was just ecstatic about the way the guitar played and sounded (he's sort of a casual player and didn't really understand things like fret dresses, setups, etc.)

At any rate, it put a smile on my face. :aok

Got hired as an extra for "The Avengers" movie. Will wear a tux in a scene called "Museum Gala". Filming Monday evening from 6pm-6am.

My wife had surgery for cancer in June. She is now 100% cancer free.

Awesome and SUPERAWESOME! My wife is 3 years clean. Double mastectomy, major chemo, radiation. Told she was infertile from the treatments. Our child is due in 5 weeks!!!!!

My twenty-something daughter rang up last night in tears because our dog, now at her place, was in pain, whimpering and barely able to move.

She rang back after a visit to the vet, good as gold this morning !

Uncle's 80th birthday party today. Saw lots of family.

Beautiful sunny day

I am completely satisfied with my eight guitars right now. And my fiancee and I are heading to the beach together for the weekend!

I'm in what is fair to say the senior era of my musical career and it's probably the most creative and interesting time ever for me musically, and unexpectedly so....! Three bands, one mostly blues, one alternative/rock, and the other mostly originals that I'm having a big hand in writing......:beer

My Mother in Law who just turned 90 this summer is moving back in with us. She's an absolute HOOT and we are absolutely delighted to have her here.
I just ordered another JTM45 from Nik and I'm going to go look at a Tele this afternoon.
All is right with the world.

Hangin' with my wife when she gets home from work. Also, the Cowboys are on tonight so I get to see the starters in extended time. Not bad!
