They're playing at Emo's?! That's a tiny venue, I may actually have to go.

Emo's East is the new venue that is replacing Emos for it's size. I think it is where the backroom was.

The Backroom was a fine place to see shows

Interesting that they are playing LA on Oct-22. That is the same day as Judas Priest. You would figure they wouldn't try to compete with another big name metal act.

Hate to be a location nazi, but I'm 99% sure that Priest is playing in San Bernardino, which is a good 60 miles away from LA.

Listening to Henry Rollins I think it might be on an entirely different planet.

OK. I'll be missing this show because I will be driving 60 miles in the other direction to see Judas Priest. I sure others will as well.

Is Skolnik gonna be with Testament?

I used to listen to all three of the bands big time in high school. I really dug the hell out of Death Angel's first three albums. Seemingly Endless Time is a hell of a tune. Their cover of Cold Gin rocks too.

Is Skolnik gonna be with Testament?

That's a good question, if thier site dosen't specify, I would cross check to see if any Alex Skolnick Trio dates conflict.

Saw em last night in SF. Great show. Anthrax delivered. The new material is excellent. Testament was good, but the mix did them no favors, which is a shame because I really dig those guys.

That happened the last time I saw them. Seems like the headliner gets the best sound to me lately. I wonder whats up with that.

Anyway, five more days baby!

The sound up front was so muddy and bassy a few times it was hard to tell what song they were playing. The kick drum was distorting the speakers.

That was an amazing show! I can't hang in the pit like I used too.

Anthrax totally KILLED! And it was nice to see Scolnick this time, haven't seen him since 86.

You MUST see his show.

Glad to hear the show was great.

November 11th for me in Worcester, MA. I hope the awesomeness of the show can outweigh my hatred for the venue (Palladium)

I noticed this BIG TIME with the Dallas show and my theory is that it's intentional to make Anthrax sound the best. Technically, Testament and Anthrax are co-headliners, but Anthrax really seems to be. The sound for Death Angel was horrible, and I mean so horrible that I think it had to be intentional. The vocals were panned all the way to the right. WTH?! I had to go over to one side of the stage to here them, which is something I have never had to do for any band in the past. The sound for Testament was better, but the sound for Anthrax was immaculate. If I were the guys from Death Angel, I'd be pretty POed. FWIW, all 3 bands played very well.

As for the pit, there was a big circle pit, but it wasn't too busy except for during Caught In A Mosh. I had to laugh because you know in the old days people just stomped on each other and didn't care. Nowadays, with their fans getting older, it was amusing watching some guy get pushed down in the pit and the guy who did it helping him up, apologizing, and asking if he was ok. The pit was very geriatric-friendly. The only people being really forceful were the teenyboppers, and they were all about 110 pounds so whatever force they had behind their pushes wasn't very much.
