Brian was nice enough to share a beta of the new Neunaber STEREO wet reverb with me. i was already having fun with my mono Wet for the last year...but this thing takes it into the next dimension:

f6YQLvKxw4Y

considering the ambient and detailed nature of the sound i suggest 720p playback and good speakers/headphones. demoed on this clip is the stereo reverb split between 2 amps, 1 amp + 1 DI, and stereo DI (no amp sim), both clean and towards the end with lots of fuzz (massive sounds). the stereo signal is panned hard left and right and no additional reverb or distance mic-ing was involved. all the ambiance is from the pedal.

this is just a sneak peak...i have another 20-30 minutes of samples for later on and i think brian will also be hosting some of this audio over at his site once the final box is ready.

enjoy the stereo-ness!

ps if anyone is interested in full res extended samples of audio only feel free to pm and i'll shoot you a link to the full sampling of audio at CD resolution.

there are 4 different set ups and you can hear how the tone changes from section to section of each demo.

1)hollow body p90 guitar (Z1-H) to reverb to two amps (Emery microbaby and Z supernatural prototype), mic-ed and hard panned L/R.

2)solid body hard tail guitar w split humbuckers (Z2) to reverb to one amp and one DI input.

3)solid body hard tail guitar (Z2) to compressor to reverb to stereo DI (no amp sim).

4)solid body whammy bar guitar (Z2-t) with high output pick ups plus ceramic slide to fuzz to compressor to reverb to stereo DI.

the DI is a Phoenix Audio "Nice" Stereo DI (brilliant device).

the fuzz is a paul trombetta bone machine.

the wah is an old RMC.

compressor pedal is a joe meek floor Q.

thanks for the listen!

Are you gonna cover any of the Pedal Customizer options in later videos? I'd love to see what that's got to offer.

What are the most impressive features over the mono WET? Just wondering if I should hold out for the stereo edition. I wouldn't be running two amps anyway...

Brian is one of the few builder's I would put in the "TOP echelon" category...he knows his shit, and is always thinking of new, sweet ideas.

the mono sounds pretty much like the stereo....except obviously not stereo.:)

so as far as the basic quality it is the same. A/D, etc.
the simplicity is also the same. minimal knobs and footprint and big sound.

however the stereo offers usb updates, which is pretty huge if you think about all the possibilities....also has a reverb tone control and trails mode.

this pedal was actually my first shot at recording in stereo and many gigs i do cannot justify lugging two amps anyway....but it does seem like the stereo wet is the way to go imho since it "becomes" the mono wet if you plug into it in the correct jacks.

in a way i already have demo-d the customizer software since brian changed the mix taper on the prototype and i did use the update....worked perfectly.

that said i will get around to updating the pedal into the chorus and doing a demo of that....even tho on a personal level i am not a big chorus guy. who knows, maybe the NT chorus will change that? hehe.

as far as further implementations of the usb....i don't know what may come down the pike. afaik it will not involve user customized programs.

Whoa!!

Endlessly entertaining. From tiptoe to kicking down the wall.

btw....in (WET) space no one can hear you scream Eli. Think about it.

indeed. unless screaming with whammy bar and bone machine. then it is very audible. hehe.

bone machine + stereo WET: yep.

btw the sub octave on the bone machine sounds earth shaking through the stereo verb + phoenix DI. no amp required.

kind of like when the alien walker came out of the earth in Spielberg's War of the Worlds: WHOOOOOOONK!!

forgot to add: the one thing i think the mono wet has that the stereo wet does not have is 100% wet. if you use an effects loop that might be a slight issue....but even if you DID use an effects loop (which i rarely if ever do) the knob cranked (maybe 90% wet?) is TONS of reverb and i can imagine it would be fine in a loop situation.

either way...if you were dead set on having 100% wet for effects loop and or completely over the top washes with 0% direct guitar signal the mono version would provide that more than the stereo.

the stereo WET reverb with the goatkeeper tremolo in front:

pt 1
ZlMxhoyQmWk

p 2 (higher mix, depth, and tone):

nwAoRfWyY2U

i think that second one is a little cooler.

It's sad, strange, and beautiful...really cool stuff. Thanks for sharing Eligit! I'm about to get a VanAmps Sole-Mate but I think at some point I might try the Wet as well.

thanks a lot!

i could see somebody using BOTH the sole mate and the wet.

i think the sole mate is going for the ultimate spring type splashy verb....and the wet is more of a lush ambient soundscape thing (although it can be extremely subtle as well). personally i use the spring unit in my amp with mix low-ish and dwell a bit long....and then the wet goes ontop of that.

however for these last 2 demos it is all DI so no spring involved and all verb is the Wet.....actually that applies to almost all the demos in this thread.

thanks again,
