I've recorded a few of my instrumental songs and put 'em up on a Bandcamp. Nothing too crazy amazing, just a highschool kid getting his creativity out somewhere :aok
Proceed with caution: a lot of reverb and delay up ahead.

I took a listen to Via Dolorosa. Nice tune. Great use of layers and nice touch with the piano at the end.
Definitely can't miss the nod to Explosions.

Thanks. Explosions and This Will Destroy You have are huge influences, I'll admit.

You've got some good stuff here man! I realllllly like undaunted. It has a great melody to it, and I like the movement of the piece.
It sounds like you are sporting an analog delay... either a memory lane, or deluxe memory man. Do you run a compressor? There are frequent rests in your music, but your sustain doesn't hold out long enough to suppress that break. I would recommend either a digital delay with longer repeats, or a really good compressor. I have a Forest Green Compressor, made by Mad Professor. I love it to death!!! It's so much better than the Keeley imo, and it's cheaper, which is always a plus :)
I'm an ambient guy too (if you couldn't tell from my username), and I would appreciate if you would check out my raw audio youtube video. Lemme know what you think!

Thanks man. I've only got an MXR Dyna Comp but hopefully I'm getting either the Diamond or the Empress compressor sometime soon. I'll have to take a look at the Forest Green, thanks. The delay on Undaunted was a Boss DD7, because it was the only one I had at the time. I use a DL4 now, it's really good for this stuff.
I loved the melody in Wide Eyes, your music is awesome. That Dr. Z and the Damage Control.. :bow

I am really liking it! THe SOng for Stephen started a bit slow, so I am glad I hung in there as it has gotten quite good. DO you do this all on a loop or do you record to tracks and mix in the parts? I now have a Timeline and really need to get my feet wet with the loop function.
The MP FGC cb is a really nice comp and was the first comp that made it to my board. It did get bumped a few months ago by the Effectrode. I know the Effectrode is a huge sum of cash for a High Schooler, but keep it in the back of your mind as it is much warmer and smoother than the FGC.
Just keep doing it!

Excellent sounds and use of "white space". Yes, the piano on Via Dolorosa is very effective.
My band Sansyou is making music in a similar vein that you might enjoy.

I wrote For Stephen on a loop, but when I recorded it I did each loop one at a time (for EQ purposes). Thanks for the comp suggestion, I'll keep that in mind :aok
