It's an '85 Squier Contemporary Strat, 24.75" scale. I had one over 20 years ago, but I've only ever seen my first one and this one "in the wood." I see the same few red ones that have been on ebay forever, but the black ones seem to be particularly rare.

Thankinya. I don't think it's been played much, particularly lately, given the condition its in and the playability when it arrived. The frets needed a good cleaning and the relief was excessive. I'm trying to feedback-train it and am making pickup height and polepiece adjustments to that end. I may end up replacing the pickups down the road, but won't if I can get it to respond the way I expect it to.

I've got a red one. I got it from a friend a while back and its pretty beat up, but its a cool guitar. I'm running an old Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and I can get a good hair metal sound out of it, but because of the shorter scale length its easy to get a warmer tone out of it too compared to a lot of 80s shredders. Its an 80s MIJ Fender so its a good quality guitar, better than most of the modern Squiers. Not one of my main guitars but I keep it as a beater or whenever I'm in a particularly 80s mood.
