Traynor YGL1 by far. http://www.traynoramps.com/products.asp?type=3&cat=63&id=436
I picked up a used PRRI. Now I can leave my DRRI at our jam space and play the PRRI at home.

Traded my Mesa Mark V towards a Two-Rock Custom Reverb Version 2 Signature 50 watt head with matching 212 Two-Rock cab in cream tolex. I loved the Mesa, but I honestly haven't missed it since Mr. Two-Rock came to town.

I sold a Mesa Mk IV combo and a 2x12 Halfback cab to fund up for a new Gries 12.
http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=963970
I had the Mesa for 20 years and gigged with it everywhere I played, but I outgrew the Mesa sound and tired of the weight for transporting it.
The Gries 12 is top quality BF sound, dead simple to use and easy to move. These qualities seem to meet my needs for 2011 and beyond.

I only picked up one amp this year - okay, my wife bought it for me for my birthday, but it's still the only new amp I got in 2011 - and I love it to death! My recently acquired Mesa Boogie Mini Recto 25 with the matching 1x12" V30 loaded slant cab is too cool for words... throw a decent reverb pedal in the loop and you've got killer BF cleans, awesome classic rock grind and solid old metal drive a tiny oasis of tone sitting unobtrusively at the end of the couch... Try that with a single Rec and a 4x12!!

I bought a AC15CC1 that I tweaked with Mesa tubes and a GB12. What a little screamer with headroom. I thought that was the buy of the year. Then my old Fargen Epic shows up here for sale and I wanted that amp back bad. I sold the Vox since I really only want three amps on hand. So now the Fargen was the buy of the year.
But I missed the Vox. I saw an AC15CC1 for sale in Ft Lauderdale craigslist. Since I just bought a house in Ft Laud and I need an amp there, I bought the AC15. So I got a couple of great amps this year.

I purchased my first Randall RM100 MTS amp a little over a weak ago..It was $500 with a Blackface and Plexi module along with the power amp loaded with brand new KT88's and the two pre amps loaded with brand new tung sol 12ax7's made this thing a steal....I'm adding a modded JTM45 as of this post...
I have owned a Marshall JCM800 50 watter since 1986 and it has been my go to amp since..It is really starting to show the miles and use and it was beginning to cost alot to keep it up and running ..Its time for a total rebuild..
I was going to buy another Marshall or a Bassman for that JTM45 tones..But i had always been curious about the Randall MTS line..I can honestly say after a little over a week i can understand the near cult following of these amps..Now if i can get out of the hospital and go play through it that would be nice instead of on here talking about it...

Peavey Classic 50 head and matching 4x10 cabinet. No effects loop so it is an early model I think. Gave 225, a cheap acoustic/electric, and the worst sounding amp any of you have ever heard in your life. It sounds great, just needs cleaned up a bit.

Sweet!!! When you get a chance go over to the MTS Forum and look atsome of the modders like Jaded Faith, and Sacred Groove... For $100 or less they will turn a good sounding stock module into an absolute Great module,,, You won't know the difference until you hear them though...just a thought

Since I only bought one amp, and it is amazing, I will say Swart SST-30 with 2x12 greenback cab. It sounds great at any volume and you can get into the sweet spot without getting too crazy. It takes 2x 6L6 or EL-34, but I like it best with four 6V6s! This amp will be with me a long time.

Bought this chassis (1943/1944) Bell and Howell projector amp off the local Craigslist:

I sent the chassis (working) to Anthony Roos of "At Mars" and he built me this awesome "Specialist" ~15 watt head:
http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx125/354tfw/silvergrille.jpg
Stock "At Mars Specialist" with the 6SL7 preamp tube.
Anthony also filled the chassis with NOS Bell&Howell glass (tubes).
All I can say is this is one wonderful vintage sounding amp. I had no problem getting all the tones from the "At Mars Specialist" on-line demos (Lance K from DAGs).
I will try to do a proper report out over the holiday.
Happy holidays!

2011 was a good year for this metal head. Call this the "anti boo-tique" rig I suppose. :p Wanted an ultimate high gain candy rig and I needed something for a room not too far removed from about 12 neighbors 20-yards on the other side of the wall. I have a Picovalve (not pictured) atop the Carvin python (for country to AC/DC tones) but for the uber-gain goods, I chose the Line 6 HD147 head atop a Fender MH-500 slant cab that I bought for about 70% off retail. Looks metal....SOUNDS metal. The HD147 has the tones of the Vetta without all the Borg buttons. With the L6 floor board, I can store more saturated sounds than my head can create, anything from scooped to modified Marshall JCM800 "It came from the 80's" tones. The great thing about the head/cab combo is I can finish rotating the MV dial at the "9 pm" mark and have liquid gain at a level that won't have the po-po knocking on my door. That's the beauty of a well-executed digital rig. Still, that Picovalve has such a nice beefy and round tone (especially when used with my various dirt boxes) that I find myself using that almost 50% of the time as well.

No question: Maz 18 with Reverb 1x12 combo. Pretty much the perfect amp for me. Great chime, handles pedals with aplomb, portable, good for home use, big enough to gig anywhere I'd play (other than the infrequent outdoor gig), built like a tank, and inexpensive compared to other handwired amps.
Honorable mention: Fuchs Lucky 7 (perhaps the best Marshally grab-n-go amp on the planet) and Trinity TC15 (tone to die for; no pedals necessary).

Vox AC30C2 Black Comet. Unexpected glory at both the tone and the ability to control the volume via the master volume knob.
This one has the dual greenbacks, and I'm liking the tone so much I can't bring myself to even change a preamp tube, not to mention a Blue speaker.
I jumper the two channels and find the perfect clean, then use a Tim pedal to emulate how the amp sounds overdriven. This works incredibly well. I was also amazed to find that the tone drop from having the master clocked to having it at a "comfortable" setting is minimal. Far better than many attenuator-included amps I've owned.
I know some corners were cut in the design and manufacture, but the results are very positive.

I redid my Epi Valve Jr. with a Watts Tube Audio "Voxy" board, new Heyboer OT, and Weber alnico speaker. I finally have a Vox-style amp!

I bought an XITS 10 with Celestion blue. It is so amazing that I can hardly pull myself away from it. It takes pedals like a champ, has an incredibly wide range of usable tones, sounds great with every guitar I own, is easy to use (great tones simple to dial in), is quiet enough for the house and loud enough for the gig - yet sounds great either way, has a master volume that doesn't suck, is small, my wife thinks it looks good, it records beautifully, and it is just the greatest amp I've purchased in the last several years.

My favorite amp purchase was this Greer Thunderchief:
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/opalize/T-ChiefForte.jpg
It is a PTP hand-wired 6V6-powered Vox AC30 Top Boost style circuit, and it sounds absolutely fantastic with the Forte (http://www.fortemusical.com/) vertical 2x12 cabinet (3D 2x12 S/V, loaded with Celestion Gold on top, and EV AlNiCo SRO on the bottom). I bought the amp used, and consider myself extremely lucky to have done so.
Here's a photo with the back off, so you can see the tubes (dig those Ken-Rad 6V6G, flanked by a pair of Popes):

Ive been Searching for the best Blues/Rock/Classic Rock sound for a long time now..Ive played almost all t he amps mentioned here..The 2 Best amps IVe found for the different spectrums of sounds..Cause like we all know when you break it down to basics here the 2 sounds are Black Face Fender and Marshall Plexi everything is based on thesee 2 types of sounds...Theres a company called BLUETRON amps run by a single individual names SMITTY he makes an amp called the BLUEVERB which is the best sounding black face fender sound ive ever heard... I purchased one of these a few years back nothing in my opinions been able to compare to it on that front..As far as the Marshall type sounds it took a little bit longer for me to find the right one with all the dynamics of the original plexis..ALot of the marshall type amps they break up too much and at lower volumes you can not get any type of usable clean sound..In my opinion the PRS 25th Anniversary HX/DA is the way to go....With those 2 amps there is no sound you cannot get..From Vox ac 30 to fender tweeds to marshall bluesbreakers...The Bluetron Blueverb 40Watt Kt-77 tubes with a pentode/triode switch and the PRS 25th HX/DA 50 Watt El-34s

For amps this year I've bought: Bad Cat BC-50, Suhr Badger, and a Bad Cat Black Cat 30R 2x12. The BC-50 was such an impressive amp but I traded it for a killer Les Paul. The Badger was incredible too, but I sold it to fund the Black Cat. I had gone through a few other EL84 amps since last year trying to bring "that sound" in my head into reality. Went through a few amps, tons of tubes, some speakers, etc. I got the Black Cat, plugged straight in, and there it was!!
I really liked those other amps but I'm certain this Black Cat is a keeper.
