I was just thinking the other day how Boss really hadn't released anything in awhile.
Not interested in any of these however.
Uh oh, the feedbacker has returned! Maybe they executed it better this time....

(sorry I can't remember how to inbed vids, been a while)
I have the ST-2 power stack, which is a lovely pedal; I'm betting the BC-2 will be great too. Not interested in any more dirt pedals myself tho'

They don't sound horrible, but they do seem a little thin/buzzy/harsh on the high end (like most every other Boss I've played). Could be the amp, though.

So the Combo Drive is a VOX-in-a-box built around the idiom of the Power Stack.
Always cool to see new Boss pedals. I feel like a kid again.

The Feedbacker/Booster actually sounds OK IMO. I bet that it'll be a lot cheaper than a lot of the boutique boosters out there on the market.

I love when people are speaking another language and throw English words in. "Bla bla bla crunchy sound bla bla! Bla bla midrange bla neck position bla bla!"
I'd like to try the combo drive...

It sounds like the Feedbacker actually causes real feedback this time. As opposed to the old Super Distortion/Feedbacker which was more of a relative tone generator.

Thanks for posting.
It would be interesting to check out the feedback pedal. I usually can't play at the volume needed to generate natural feedback.

Oh like people who like eating "tacos", or the federal "bureau" of investigation?
I know... I like it too.

Nice to see an AC-inspired pedal by Boss. I'm quite partial to my AC-Tone, but wouldn't mind hearing something else.

I really wanna get my hands on an FB-2. Looks like it'd be fun for practising at home with.
Are they digital modeling type or old school analog?

look how he attached his guitar strap. I like his Tyler though.
I'll try the BC-2 when it comes around. It's hard to find a pedal with that cranked, frothy, jangly AC30 overdrive sound.

The video demo for this BC-2 Combo Drive which is definitely going after the Tech 21 Character Series (the copy references amp "Character" in describing the Sounds knob- plus NO mention of COSM) is not doing this pedal any favors
the guy doing the demo does some generic shredding that sounds like a DS-1 plus echo etc...NOT what I think of as VOX tone (I still think Beatles/Stones, REM, Rory Gallagher, Tom Petty, or Brian May)

I don't know if it is COSM or not. It is not written on the pedal like it is for some of their other products that use COSM, like the AC-3, so maybe it isn't.

+1. I've never heard anything by COSM that sounded anywhere close to good when at actual playing volume...

Interesting...I have used a friend's Roland Cube 30/w COSM for a few basement jams (he is a guy that has all kinds of cheap, used amps and instruments, including drums so none of us have to bring anything!) and I thought it sounded OK for what it was ("everything but the kitchen sink" in an amp), but definitely a compromise in tone and dimension when compared with the real thing...
I'd be interested in that Feedbacker.

The Feedbacker is for me.
Unless it's COSM, but that would be weird since it doesn't say so on the pedal.

I think all these stomps look plenty cool, personally. I don't get the negativity. The Feedbacker especially is at least novel - seems to be an intuitive boost with an added gimmick that seems very fun and useful. With all the talk people do about boosters here, you'd think the FB-2 would be a shoe-in for some TGP love.

The tone was clearly not a DS-1.

I would just think that boss would want a piece of all the cool pedal action going on these days.
Some interesting circuits and names would certainly boost sales, don't ya think?

I'm interested in the FB-2. Based on the demo, it sounds more like a tone enhancer/sustainer than a feedbacker/booster. Either way, I'm interested in hearing some more demos. And, more importantly, I'm hoping the price stays well below $100.

What, like the endless cloning of old designs? The fancy paint jobs?
IMO the feedbacker is an interesting circuit, moreso than yet another TS, Muff or Klon imitation.
I gotta laugh when people take the time to post how bored they are. Who cares?

Ok... that may be the one exception because I have heard a lot of people say really things about that amp (for what it is, of course), but I have never played it so I wouldn't know. I was referring mostly to their GT/ME multi-units. They are really horrible. Also, I had a friend with a home studio that had some guitar-based plugin with COSM on it, and again it was the same thing.

I'm not saying the sound was great, it was OK- something for a jam or small gig where you just wanna sound decent, no fuss etc., When you just wanna plug in and go! To be fair, those Roland Cubes give you the features for little $$
I did NOT care for those COSM Fender Bassman and DR pedals when trying them out at GC , but I love my regular Boss pedals;)

The BC-2 is most likely digital (COSM-based). For some reason the new COSM pedals such as Metal Core (ML-2) are not labeled as such. I also have a feeling that the BC-2, ST-2 and ML-2 share the same hardware; the difference is probably only the firmware and the box color/labels.

Exactly. The FB-2 especially is a very novel design. More "original" than we see from most "booteek" pedal-makers.
Weird that it's the novel pedal that's so "boring" to people, while another "mysterious-mojo-but-ordinary-circuit-derived" boost from some non-BOSS company would turn a lot of heads.
For $189 there are many, many other dirt boxes to be had

How many other dirt boxes do the feedback?
Seriously asking.

What's not clear is if the "feedback" is an analog compression/sample circuit like the Philospher's Tone or whether it's basically a digital signal processor (delay and pitch shifter combo) which I'd find much less interesting. Same with the BC2, if it's an analog approach like the Tech21 and now the Joyo, it'd be cool, if it's COSM, it's been done before and $189 for a single pedal version is nuts! I'm also not sure about the advertising, "Our Looper now with an EVEN BIGGER pedalboard!"

I figured they would be replacing the rc50 as it was discontinued, almost bought one when my local music store had the last one they had on sale.
Hopefully the rc300 has the midi and whatever problems the 50 had fixed as the rc300 will be under my xmas tree.

Also, it'll be around $120 street.
Not a pedal for for those rutted in blues or classic styles.

The Line 6 Dr. Distorto does the feedback thingie quite nicely to my ear. You can even shut off the distortion and use it as a pure feedbacker (although how much/little your tone is altered going through the pedal, don't ask me)
Anyhow, interested in the new booster. Love my Catalinbread SCP but cranking the amp ain't always an option! If any of these pedals had the classic three-knob design, they'd be an instant purchase. I'm a sucker for those.

The Loop Station looks bigger than the last one which is a deal breaker for me. It looks huge in the pic. I would have been just as happy if they would've increased the recording time on the old model and left everything else alone. I liked the original loop station it just couldn't hold enough data. I sold mine and now use a stereo Jamman. 8hrs of loops and a much smaller footprint!!!

Are you talking about the RC-20XL vs the RC-300? The RC-20XL was replaced with the RC-30 and the RC-300 replaced the RC-50

Wanting to check out the FB-2 ASAP. As mentioned, often times I can't quite get loud enough or in position for the raucous feedback I need and enjoy. Frankly, I don't give a crap if it does the feedback digitally. I only care if it's realistic and works well. I think this is one of those pedals I won't know if I like/need until I play it in person.
The BC-2 would be more interesting to me if I didn't have my Matchless Hot Box.
