Tomo,

Nice sounds! I have a 65 Princeton Rev that I would like to try a replacement speaker in. I play a variety of music. In your opinion what Eminence would be good choice for clean and OD tones?

I also have a 64 Twin Rev. If you have a suggestion for the twin I would appreciate it as well.

Thx

Tomo,

I just ordered a pair of Texas Heats to put in my Z Best 2x12. I'll be playing a Blonde Tremolux.

The clips helped push the decision over the edge. Thanks

How about some clips with the Pro's volume at 6 or 7? :D

Unless my ears are deceiving me, I think the Swamp Thang may be my next new speaker. Sounds like nice fat mids!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your email. Like I suggested .....
but you may want to check out the Legend 121s
for your 64 TR. I like that speaker too. I have the
Legend 121 in one of my Champ 12s. Nice tone!

I think the RC for 65 PR is good idea.
Great clean and OD tones.

Good luck!

Tomo,

I put a Ragin Cajun in the Princeton Rev per your suggestion. Good Lord that thing sounds great! It's like I'm hearing that amp for the first time. ( I've owned it 30 years.)

I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks again!

Sorry for my late reply. How did you like the Texas Heat.
Great blues/rock speakers. Big sound.

You're welcome. I am glad that my sound clips gave
you some ideas.

I don't like to play that loud and I guess I like my amp
stays clean side. When I have a chance, I will make
more sound clips.

Thanks,

The Swamp Thang, The Tonker both has
2" voice coil and 59oz magnet. 150 watts.
Yes, very fat and big tone.

The Legend 121 also great tone. 2" inch
voice coil. 38 oz. magnet. a bit brigther.
150 watts. I use this in my champ 12.

So would you like to put the Swamp thang into
your cab? What kind of cab do you have?

I also like the Red Ryder 56 oz.magnet, 120 watts for my 1 12
cab application. Really nice headroom. great tone.

I also recommend the Red White & blues for fender type
tone, similar to jensen C12N? but more power. 120 watts.
I have these in my one of Pro Reverbs. Nice mids!

My main cab is Bob Burt 12s cab with the Tonespotters.
Great sounding speakers. I like a bit brighter side, because
I would like to hear picking nuances, details. I mean
good balance between top end and bottom end.

How about live sound...

Just funky live - from clean to OD Eminence's Texas Heat & Screaming Eagle (http://www.homepage.villanova.edu/david.kaplowitz/tomo/jf_clip01.mp3)

Just Funky live - od solo Eminence's Texas Heat & Screaming Eagle (http://www.homepage.villanova.edu/david.kaplowitz/tomo/jf_clip02.mp3)

Tomo,

I REALLY enjoyed your clip "Wizard 335 R&B solo" which is extremely mellow and expressive.

Domo! Okurete suimasen!

It's nice to hear that you are enjoying your
Bob Burt V2 12 cab.

Mixing speakers is fun thing to do. Texas Heat
2" voice coil , 38 oz magnet, 150 watts.
great warm sounding speaker.

I like the Red Ryder 120 watts...
how about the Red White & blues 120 watts.. nice
tone.

The Swamp thang has really big tone, so if you can
choose a speaker with a touch of top end?

Are you looking for more wamer tone?

Let me know.

thanks for the clips, tomo. I really liked the live clips and the other texas heat sounds. While not as fat sounding as the Swamp thang (although very close, from the clips, IMO), it seems to be a very balanced sounding speaker. Probably my favorite speaker, judging from the clips.
