Magnatone 413 Custom

I just restored this early 60's Magnatone 413 custom. I snapped it up off Ebay for about $550 shipped because the cab was falling apart. I made a new cab out of plywood and tolex in about a week. Everything is original except that a 3 prong power cord was added. These amps kick ass over vintage Fenders in my opinion. Better vibrato and tone. The only reason they didn't succeed was that they were more expensive per watt and the cabs weren't as sturdy for touring....But the tone and design was a bit more refined than what Leo was doing. Rumor has it that Leo was trying to copy them making his amps. anyway here's the demo. Amp+guitar...no pedals etc.

sweet! i love it. i own an evil robot which is based on a similar amp as your's i think. it's def. one of the best amps i've ever played. congrats!

Yea I like bought this as an inexpensive alternative and the sound seems in the same ballpark as the Phil X videos.Crunchy overdrive to shimmering cleans with little effort to get either sound and that great vibrato. Perfect amount of power for most of what I do and very portable.
