Anyone using a Timmy as they're base tone then running a fulldrive into the Timmy for chunky rhythm... Then hitting the fd boost channel for leads? I know this is quite specific ;)

BUMP... The reason I'm asking is because I love running my ts808 into my Timmy but I find the need to tweak the gain knob constantly (like James Duke) depending on the song/part...
Thought it would be nice to have the boost side of the FD.

I run a FDII into a Tim. This produces a really big crunch and sustain!!! This still leaves me with the Boost of the Tim or the FDII for solos. Perfect set up for me....I love it into my Vox AC15C1.
My experience is that the Boost of the Tim can be EQ'd to add a little more gain and bottom end, where the FDII Boost feature really just adds more gain.
I can't believe I just shared my tone secret with everyone.....

I have been running the Tim since i got it as my base tone. love it.. and the boost is rad!
i had a fulldrive that i used for a bit but it didnt really cut it..
i just picked up a Yellow custom shop one to run boosting into the tim.. i'm hoping for rocking results! on paper sounds killer

I run a full drive into a Timmy its a great combination. I use just the Timmy mainly unless I want more gain then I turn on the Fulldrive II.

This is a great part of the Tim(my), IMO. It's great all by itself, but I've also learned that it is great with other drives and fuzzes running into it. You can tailor your overall gain, and often better shape your tone by using the bass and treble controls without losing the character of the preceding drive pedals.
