I really liked this amp when I played it using a CVC Tele. If I were to buy it I would likely only use the top boost and tweed modes. But I got thinking...if I scored one used for around $700.00 plus the price of a cab (so maybe spending $1,000-$1,100 total?) aren't there some better options? I mean could I find a tweed clone and a top boost type amp (likely combos) for less?

I'm an indie rock guy so I like medium gain. I have no need for the hi gain channels on the TA-15. I have to think there are some affordable alternatives to the TA 15 and a cab. Something around 15 watts, and like I said maybe two combos one with a top boost voice and one with tweed voicing. I sold my amp to fund a move, and after the new year or after our second child is born, I would like to pick something up to where the price will not anger my wife. Any suggestions? I'm open to clones.
