UPDATE: OCT 19/11

This should be funny. Check out my revised item description! :)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190589256116...84.m1555.l2649 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5336713463&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F19058925611 6%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%3AMESELX%3AIT%26_trksid%3Dp3 984.m1555.l2649)

Useless, just useless, I am done with them

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I listed a product last night but it doesn't show up when I search it! It DOES appear in the "items for sale" section on my "my ebay" page. Strangely, a few people are watching it, but it doesn't come up no matter what search word I enter.

What gives?

To top it off, there is no online customer support anymore, just a phone call which I'm sure will answered "ultra" quickly.

Could somebody search "Traynor bassmate" for me and see if my auction appears? My member name is the same as here.

ARGH, this is why I hate ebay!

Thanks guys. I just spoke with ebay on the phone (which was actually very quick believe it or not).

There is a "delay" posting so they they can "ensure my product gets the best exposure and most hits on the site." Are you freaking kidding me? The way to get exposure is to delay putting it up!!!! WTF !!!!!!!! Obviously something is screwed and this is there "support" line; the entire ebay site seems to be a giant clugfest now so this isn't really suprising.

Does it show up if you follow this link:

Weird. It shows up if I search for your user ID, but not using your title words. I'd probably just delete it and try again.

That is weird .... the ONLY way I found it was by searching your user name... the item would not come up in search :(

I had this same thing last week. First time in 10 years on ebay. I called the number and was told by a woman with no command of english and no idea what she was talking about, that it was due to indexing, etc, and would be resolved shortly, if not right now or yesterday...... It was fixed by the evening.

The guy I spoke with was actually quite good. "Indexing", yes that was the word . . . Did they refund your fees? There was mention of this if the search function didn't work "soon.|

Yep, the auction is open to USA and Canada. FWIW, it doesn't show up on eBay canada either when I use the search.

They pulled that crap with me a couple weeks ago. The delay wouldn't have bothered me but for the fact that they still run the clock on your listing time while they wait to get it posted.

They're phone support is worthless. I despise that company and avoid doing business with them until I have no alternative.

Major thanks to everyone for continuing to looki into this, much appreciated. Send ebay a bill for acting as their custom support/employees :)

I have had a delay in finding my auctions too.

But more importantly, ebay/paypal need to go away.

I won't go into my recent experience with them, other than to say ebay/paypal played good cop bad cop, costing me countless hours on the phone talking to idiots who literally made up timelines and such......etc....on and on trying to straighten it out. And I do mean HOURS(phone) AND MONTHS to get it resolved.

Hopefully few get the treatment I did.

Not shipping until PayPal releases the money to you might cause more than a few people to not bid. Why should I pay right away and then have to wait up to a month for PayPal to release the funds before you ship ? :huh
If you don't trust PayPal to give you the money then you should not use them. This smells kind of fishy to me.

I think by "more than a few people" Roy actually means "anyone with half a brain".

Why should I be held hostage by paypal when I've been on ebay for over a decade, have a perfect record, and the amp is fully insured and has a tracking number? Ebay/paypal pulled this stupid crap with indiscriminately holding money; if they don't hold it, and they shouldn't, the amp goes out immediately. But I am not sending my amp out to a person without any money, having paid the seller fees, paypal fees, and shipping, and giving the buyer a month to decide if they "like it or not."

Use EMT, contact me about other payment options (as stated in the ad), tell ebay to stop treating sellers like de facto crooks. We can easily work around their lame policy.

This happened to me recently when I used one of eBays 'we found an item like this' helper things after I entered the product name and model.

When I used that item template, it listed it on ebay.ca only. I had to delete it and start over.

Gents chill. No one is trying to screw you. Some poor DBA is trying to figure out why an index has gone bad which could happen for any number of reasons; soft spot on the disk, a tablespace doesn't have a enough space allocated, a broken tree, you name it.

This is a technical issue and I guarantee some guy is busting his ass trying to figure it out.

That is fugged up... I clicked your link, went to the item (descrip is funny as hell) and then put the title of the auction into the search and couldn't find it! :bonk :huh

I stopped dealing with those bastiges two or three years ago when they gave me grief over a $6 fee... that I didn't even owe.

Shows up fine on either eBay International or eBay Canada. Since you probably listed it via eBay Canada, it must have been something you checked (or not) when listing. I wouldn't get all over eBay USA for this. Have you tried re-listing it as pir8matt suggested? I doubt the listing fees will make a noticeable dent in the sale price!

This. Fair or no, if I bought something and a seller told me he'd wait 21 days Or whatever it is, I would be CHOKED.

Huge Dealbreaker.

I don't know, I'd be afraid of ebay ... they may send some of their hit men to your house .... I've heard they do that.

I bid it up for you and have the high bid @ $10 ! 11! :eeks

I don't think getting upset on the 4th day of a 7 day auction is any indicatin of impatence. I have more than "chilled".

Yes, it is a technical issue, but one that makes the auction essentially useless. Unless you work for eBay and are personally monitoring the staff who are trying to figure out the problem, your "guarantee" is meaningless. Probable, yes, but you are simply not in a position to make a guarantee.

It's not something "I checked." Ebay has twice confirmed the problem is on their end. The "dent" of the listing fees is irrelevant; they have failed to properly deliver the service I paid for, and therefore I shouldn't be charged; if your phone worked properly for 3 days a week, would you pay for 7 days of service?

I would have relisted next week, if their customer service wouldn't have given me attitude last night. As it stands, ebay just isn't worth the hassle or expense.

I don't know why you're so upset that you can't find Traynor in a search. Nobody has ever searched for Traynor on ebay before....that's why they didn't know that particular search term didn't work....

I encountered a similar problem listing something on ebay.com because I'm in Canada. I had to agree to some additional terms, (all to protect ebay of course), in order to list on the .com site. I believe if you list on ebay.ca (Canadian site) you may have to do some additions on the listing page to make sure you include the rest of the world.
I always list on ebay.com. It's where I originally registered long ago when ebay was a fair place to do business. They have become so f$%ked up and greedy over the years.
