NGD: Gibson ES-333

I just scored a 2003 Gibson ES-333 that looked like this...

I swapped the pickups to Seth Lovers, shined it up with Meguiars #7, installed a pickguard, and now I have this....

It sounds fantastic, and totally scratched my ES-335 itch!

I did the same thing to mine that I got about 6 months ago ( sans the buff out). I put in Lollar Imperials with Coil Splitters, and it sounds great.

More stipped down, plus has a back acsess cover for the wiring.

Satin Finish, rear access panel, Gibson Decal instead of inlay.....and 490/498 pickups.

It's the best 335 on a budget you'll find. A real working musicians guitar IMO.

Is there anything else anyone spots cosmetically that differentiates this from a "real" 335? Tonewise, it's totally there.

There's a walnut finished one at a local guitar shop on consignment for $950. Other than some dull marks, it looks to be in great shape...

Looks great! I have one as well - mine has Duncan Phat Cat P-90s, but I'm thinking of going back to 'buckers. How are you liking the Seth Lovers?

I'm loving the Seths in this guitar. I have them set really low and I'm getting single-coil type of clarity and sparkle with no mud. This guitar is very resonant and the Seths bring that out.

I ended up with a 335 that I am very happy with, but it cost me a bit more cash......unfortunately.
