On 11/5/11 I ordered a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde for the amazing price of $259.99.
I loved it so much I ordered myself another one in Vintage Blonde, this one I could only get 10% off = $292.49, but it is still well worth it.
Why did I order another?
The Vintage Blonde Telecaster has Alnico 3 pick-ups, the Butterscotch Blonde has Alnico V pick-ups.
I'll keep you all posted when it gets here and I'll take some pics.

So, the different color finishes have different pickups?
Are the rest of the specs. the same?
I have an original CV50 (white/blonde) from when they first came out 3 or 4 years ago, but assumed the butterscotch was just a new finish option for the same guitar.

I am not sure about back then, but the new ones are only differed by pick-ups.

Back then they only had the one color.
Interesting that they're offering a different finish/different pickup variation on the same guitar.
Great guitars, though.

I've heard the pick-ups back then were pretty hot and sounded great:dude

the bridge pickup in the blonde version is killer: alnico III and like 8.5k. the BSB version is pretty crap IMO: really thin and ice-pick.

The new one arrived and at first I was not in love with it, it seemed tough to play, but then I realized, I felt the same way about the Butterscotch one for a day or two.
I kept playing it and eventually the stiff new strings loosened up and all is right with the world.
Here are some pics of the new one....

As for comparisons....
The BSB feels more resonant and maybe a little lighter.
The BSB feels a little smoother and refined also.
The BSB fretboard is more polished.
The VB pick-ups are hotter, I had it backwards, the Alnico 3 is a hotter pup than the Alnico Vs in the BSB.
I like the Alnico Vs in the BSB better, but the Alnico 3s in the VB are nice also.
To sum it up, I like the BSB better in terms of tone, looks, and playability, but I am not returning the VB as it is really nice also and has its own personality.

I wish I had an easy way to do it, I'd love to let people hear these Squiers through my Budda SD45.
