Hi.
Any Dan Echo love out there?
Can these be repaired on a cost effective basis? I love my old Dan Echo, but after 6 years of gigging, those cheap plastic jacks crapped out. Using my Boss DD-6 now. Tried other delays but, crazy me, love the Dano. Can I replace the jacks or are the attached to the board in a way that will make that a big hassle, making it cheaper to buy a new one for $70?

I have one. bought it years ago and shortly after one of the jacks quit working.
Dug it out a few weeks ago Took it apart, reflowed the solder joints and spray some cleaner in it ran a jack in & out a few times & it's been working like a charm. (fingers crossed)
I also run it in the FX loop of a radial big shot mix( I had already) as the Dano's are in need of a buffer.

that freaky little guy really sounds great
the power jack on mine went out, so i re-soldered it back to life, but ultimately traded it away to GC for a akai headrush II. that lasted for a week. sorta wished i had kept the danecho.

Miss mine a bit - they really are good sounding, aren't they? A band opening for my band maybe six years ago had been robbed, and their guitar player was really needing some delay. I just gave him my DanEcho because that's how cool I am ;)
I hope he's still getting some good use out of it.

Thanks bsuite. Did just as you said. Reflowed the solder on the jacks and the external power input too. And did the cleaner thing. So far so good. Thanks again.
Lots of love here - fantastic pedal! I modded mine a few years ago with an additional footswitch that allows the repeats knob to push up into self oscillation territory. It's fun to use, because when you're done making spaceship noises, you just stomp the switch and the repeats knob returns to it's normal range and the delayed sound dies away gradually.
I have been having trouble with the jacks on mine too and it never occured to me to re-flow them. Going to do that this weekend and give this pedal another run on my "noodling around in the kitchen while waiting for dinner to cook" rig.
Reflowed the joins and it is working perfectly again! I don't know that I would be confident enough to run it on my gigging board again, but it will certainly get lots of regular use again now.
Cheers TGPeople!

I resoldered the jacks on mine years ago, but stopped using it because it was the hugest tone sucker in bypass. Is this the logic behind buffering it?

I had mine" ruggedized " by retroman. All metal connectors/jacks rewired. Low cut toogle is now a footswitch on the front. Box it on the big side, but it's built like a tank now.
