I have 2 Mexican Road Worn Strats (50's & 60's) and one Baja Tele (stock, but thinking about installing my Ron Ellis Tele PUs in it.)

The stock electronics are not very clear. I find with the tone controls wide open, there is too big of a treble loss, when in positions 3 & 5. The tone controls are useless, as they are bassy sounding and cut too much volume when engaged!

What brand pots are considered the very best? I hear CTS is all over the map and I want to get something more consistent. I did buy a bunch of ALPHA POTS, but I don't know if these will be the perfect match for my guitars?

Also what cap values (brands?)

This kind of thing can be real simple to fix, or it can be a nightmare and take you on a WILD GOOSE CHASE with endless experimenting!

I need your advice guys!! ;)

Fender uses CTS audio 250K pots, those are good. I'd try some pickup height adjusts first.I've played quite a few RW's and the 'tronics were fine, plenty clear. Maybe you'd like a treble kit for when you lower the volume so it keeps more highs? If you want more highs, you could install no load tone pots as well.
