Let me give it a spin first and then rave about it all over the internet for about a month. By then I should be able to get $10,000.00 for it. More if put on Flea-Bay!!

Oh, btw, the neck on mine has this special formulated

"sexy-smooth'n silky- no-drag gun stock oil finish"

and there's flame maple neck purfling/binding instead of plasitc.

It's been just under 13 months since I placed my order last OCT.

Johan's doing final assembly right now.

I live about an hour away from Gustavsson's shop - I might drive down there to check out your guitar and his other current work :p

It's too bad he didn't have any nice flamed maple and had to use the plain stuff. :jo

Hey thanks Lou! I've seen your share of great looking guitars posted here....so that says a lot!!

Guys, thanks everyone for the kind words.

Johan's waiting for the finish to get hard enough before the final buffing and assembly. I'll let him take his time.

As Johan told me, the guitar/top looks much better in person, it's got too much red in the pic.

Man, I've had some nice guitars with great tops, great colors, but that guitars has BOTH outstanding flame and outstanding color, enjoy it, and looking forward to the tone report.

Johan's guitars are truly amazing pieces of art!! I have played three different Bluesmaster and they are all among the 5 best guitars i have touched. The perhaps most profound thing is the feel of quality that oozes from his instrument, no super fancy wood or inlays yet his guitars feels like a million bucks, so to speak. Whan we opened the case of one of the Bluesmasters in a music stor right under the rack of Gibson Custom Shop guitars the Gustavsson made them look like cheap Chinese Epiphones and i stood 3 meters from the guitars. Itīs the hard to define QULITY that some things have, you can't put the finger one thing..
Well nuff said Johan ROCKS :dude

Check the emporium here from time to time. Nothing is sacred around these waters. Nothing. ;)

I'm seen a few for sale myself. But they were all in that 5-6k range, the same price as new one... just to avoid the wait time.

The wait has been long but at least reasonable (I did make a few changes), compared to others.

Johan has been responsive as far as communication/update is concerned, and no I didn't bug him, not even once a month, but he's been keeping me informed. That makes the whole process a lot more easier (the waiting).:)

I pulled the trigger after doing some research. The main thing is that I'm a Strat/Tele guy but want/need at least one twin humbuckers guitar. Some owners just prefer Johan's guitar over their own LP Style guitars, even the vintage ones.

i have to ask..how did you manage to get such an awesome eastcoast maple cap? i've never seen tops on johan's bluesmaster guitars that are that intense. i just received mine and i'm thrilled with how it turned out. because of my physical limitations i needed a guitar that was very lightweight with a huge round neck. johan nailed it . the guitar weighs 7.2lbs and it has the large 59 reissue type profile. it sounds every bit as good as the solid body gusto i had before but without the back strain. mind you these aren't heavy guitars , but for me even 8.0lbs is too much. enjoy your flamethrower! God bless, tom

Johan double stained that top, which generally brings out every last bit of figure in a top. Glad you're digging your new Jo.

7.2lbs and a baseball bat neck.......does it feel neck heavy at all?

With the upper bout strap button even further away from the headstock than a LP, I do worry a little about how well the guitar will balance when strapped on.

I specified my neck to have a real rounded V profile with very skinny shoulders and the thickness starts from .920" tapered to .980". Gun stock oil finish.

About the top:
I chose the option (with extra fee) to get a better flame top and Johan picked it out for me. It's actually the second top. The first one, with a reversed chevron pattern, didn't make the "ten top" inspection after sanding and carving.

Johan mentioned that for optimal tone, with the weight range from 8.0 -8.5lbs will be the best. I think mine will be around that weight.

But as many of us know, weight's not the only factor for making a great sounding guitar so.....

Can you post some pics of yours????:dude

Thanks everyone for the kind words, it just makes this an even more special guitar.........:RoCkIn :BEER:BOUNCE
