.... for a meet and greet and open jam / party, how do you think that would work out overall? :huh
Here is what I was thinking: :red
Friday afternoon and evening
Meet and greet. :) Sign up sheet for Saturday Open Jam. Roast some hotdogs over a giant bon fire, drink a few beers and play some acoustic guitars. Show pictures of past or current bands you are with. Giant PA system to play your band's or home made CD music on!
Saturday
Breakfast at a local diner or hotels. First band or collective group takes teh stage for a 40 minute jam, then the next group is on.... to rotate all day. Another giant bon fire is started. Swap meet area opened up with trading and some remote jamming going on. Pizza lunch. Afternoon vintage and modern amp seminar led by a few experts in the field. Guitar shop talk led by guitar experts in the field. Questions and answers. Disagreements and brawls will be professionally video taped out behind the row of Porta potties. BBQ dinner.
Burn and smash a guitar or amp event starts out the evening. :) Bon fire continues roaring away as more jamming and specialty import beers finish out the night.
Sunday
Early sunrise services up on jam stage and political discussions back behind porta potties. :red Seminar on vintage effects with demos up on stage. Vintage guitar showing up on the jam stage, then demo'd by owners. Vintage amp demos as well. Giant rumble paired up by Gibson vs Fender guys or Vintage vs Modern guys .... yet to be decided. End of event. :)
How does that sound?

I just attended a party of mostly musicians (150-200) and they had different boxes labeled guitar, drums, bass, keys, etc.. you wrote your name down on a piece of paper and dropped it in the appropriate box for your instrument. Near the end of the day they drew names and put together bands on the spot, 5 minutes later you were rockin' with your new band. Lots of fun. Lots of Stormy Monday
I live in Kansas.
If you're do this thing in Kansas, be sure to set your watches back about 20 years.

And the city closest to the geographical center of the continental US is somewhere in Nebraska. Kansas is close enough for rock and roll...
If there as a tornado and we got swept up...
I'd like to think my custom built 2x12 would survive.
I'd hope that when it landed it "wouldn't be in kansas anymore" so when I sold it for this fact in novelty, I would fetch more "mojo money"..
All sorts of survivors from the ordeal bumping my thread in the emporium...
