NGD: Suhr 7

Ordered this from Matt's Music last week and got it today. Thing is absolutely sick. Neck is typical Suhr awesomeness. It's incredibly light too, even lighter than my S3. Body and neck are mahogany, board is pao ferro. Pickups are JST-7s.

Ya, I've been GASing for one of these ever since John announced them. Definitely worth the wait.

Congratulations! How is the Floyd on the 7?

It's an OFR, so great. I wish it was low profile like the Gotoh John uses on the 6s but it's not a big deal. Stays in tune great and that's what really matters. Getting used to it after only playing traditional Strat style trems was a little tricky since it's got so much range.

It's a '56 reissue with the Mary Kaye options. Killer guitar.

At home, I play pretty much anything from jazz to funk to stoner to metal. I've been in gigging jazz, funk, 80s metal and sludge bands though right now I'm trying to focus on school. My guitars reflect that. Strat is tuned to E, Suhr 6 is tuned to Eb, LPC is tuned to D or drop C and the 7 is in B standard.

Right now, it's a THD Flexi 50 but I've got a Diezel Hagen on the way so I don't have to use a boost anymore.

Awesome 7 string and great collection! Not much you can't do with that lot. Tell us about the neck on the 7.... anything you're able to compare it to, size-wise?
