iirc so was gsp1101 delayed over 8 months from namm release date. other time the gnx2000 was announced. was summer namm, then again at winter namm. then digitech canceled gnx2000 and changed to gnx3000 and had $100 more price tag to it.

my dtx e drums from yamaha were announce available 1st qtr after winter namm. it took til october to get to states. yamaha changed design and called it dtx special. new design was 3 zone cymbals and actual hardware base hi hat.

delayed releases and many changes are common afterward from namm announcements. namm is trade show for dealers. dealers offer insight to vendors. vendors make those changes to satisfy market.

if kemper sold direct, things might be different.

I bet they know that... which is why I bet that despite what we are hearing, I would be very unsurprised if the delay is due to one particular component that can't be gotten because the factory is in a part of the world where they've recently had flooding or earthquakes and such...

In the meantime, everybody's laughing at them... but the laughing will no doubt stop when the unit ships.

They are are very disagreeable, and won't t stay still long enough to allow a good clean model. Always appear to have a tad too much "hair" to the tone as well

kpa seems is now like discussing politics here. ive been called a kpa fanboy, gsp fanboy, and a tube amp fanboy (which i still prefer tube amps and say that all time). grow a pair or stay out of discussion.

That's how it works, at least in my experience. I've never even heard of such a thing as buying/selling a beta unit. You can't buy into a beta or sell out of one. Hardware or software. I've been beta testing for over 10 years - amps, guitars, signal processors, foot controllers, effects pedals, tuners, software programs, plug-ins, recording platforms, etc..... I've seen beta stuff sold after the fact (release) but before? :huh I am confused.

Out of mere boredom I emailed Kemper asking whether or not I can have CK's autograph on my KPA ( L O L)
... I know I know. And any data when it'll be released to the public. Here is their reply:

Unfortunately it's not possible yet to place an autograph from Christoph Kemper
on the KPA because the factory here in Germany is too far away from Christoph's home.
I can't comment on a release date for the US at the moment.

There was a photo and comment on the Kemper site in June/July showing production had started. Unless it's going to ship without firmware they're going to have to install firmware and test a lot of units pretty quick to meet the claim of worldwide shipping when it's released.

True, but it definitely works the other way. How many times over the years have you seen axefx fan boys bashing just about every other product out there. (I was an axefx user for years and this actually caused me quite a bit of embarrassment, guilt by association and all that)

Interesting how the Kemper web page doesn't show any indication of the unit shipping. I was thinking they would have some kind of user forum and profile exchange setup by the time the unit started shipping.

All the delay stuff is just part of life..it will arrive when it arrives, and hopefully the guys spending their hard earned money on the unit will be blown away!

Because I don't find the modern high gain sound I'm looking for but it's a excellent regardind clean and crunch sounds...and I play 99% of the time Metal; and probably I'm not a digital/modeling guy....but I have to say that's a very nice piece of gear...

Did you try to profile your own tube amp first??? :huh Did not work???

What tube amp did you use for home use? For high-gain a Diezel VH-4 or Mesa Mark IV/V sound great at low volumes for lower gain the Hall Lil Devil is pretty incredible. I haven't found anything else that comes close for home use except a modeller.

I have used Krank rev pro jr, a french boutique amp, and finally, the more home usable was to run some wampler pedals in front of a low watts Laney.

At home, I don't need watts a lot, and my neighbours agree with that!!

Dieel VH-4 is totally the king of amp I like a lot, but can't put so much money into an amp.

I will take a look at the Hall Lil Devil, it's not the first time I hear good points about it; thanks for the info:aok

The decision was taken from many days ago, but I've decided not to sell it before the official Thomann's release, in respect for the very good collaboration with the people at Kemper's Company. And yes, it was sold very very quickly, and I understand that, because it's a nice unit.
