I was wondering what you Fender amp guru's think the value of my 69 TR may be. Im pretty much up on this stuff but values and markets change so Id thought Id throw it your way

Background: This amp has been in my life in many ways since 1975...My good buddy bought it in 75 while in the Air Force and owned it for the next 35 years. Back in 2010 I bought it from him when he needed money...Ive got a picture of me sitting on this amp with my brand new Stratocaster in 1980

The Guts: The inside tag says AB763 but we all know that is not what it is...In my research, Fender changed the circuit in May of 68 to the crappy AC568 circuit... which in turn gave SilverFaced TR's a bad name....In July of 1969 Fender fixed the problem and went with the AA769 circuit...This amp was built in July of 1969 so I assume its the AA769...although I don't know for sure

The Condition: This thing is clean...not museum quality but very clean...maybe a 8.5-9....it been gone through by the maker of Retro-King amps here in Central NY and runs like a top. He also added a 3 prong plug....The filter caps were replaced about 10 years ago by someone else...I have all original parts in a bag..It has replacement Italian made Jensen C12N's and I have one of the original Oxfords that needs a recone....the other is long gone..where and how is a mystery...this thing even has some of the original RCA power and pre-amp tubes still in it

Here's a pic of how she sits now....all shiney with a nice clean grill cloth
I'll try and get some pics of the guts so one of you guru's can determine if it is indeed a AA769 circuit

What's your take on the value?

With no master that's a good one. Price wise these days a grand on the high side is what I'm thinking.

Twins are a hard sell as no one needs that much firepower anymore.. about 1k is what I'd expect to see these go for as this would be nicer than a RI by far.

Just looked at completed listings on ebay. Ya a grand on the high side's about it.
Great amp by the way.

Just as a reference, I recently sold my personal '73 Twin in our store here in Rochester for $800.00. It was very clean, and totally stock. I was actually surprised it sold so quickly. I'd say $1K is about right-the replacement speakers hurt a bit even though they may be a upgrade.

I would think that the provenance would add a few hundy to it....I mean Ive known where and what this amp has been through for all of but 6 years of its existence....but again that might not mean squat...I thought along the lines of rocpunk.....maybe in the $1200 to $1500 range....probably closer to $1200

Bought a '68 this year that is the same condition as yours. I paid $1000.

Bought a 68' Non-Master volume from a fello TGP'er back in the spring. $1000 shipped. Great condition and I love Twin Reverbs.

Well the consensus seems to be a grand.

I would say much less than what other people are stating given that one original speaker is blown and the other is replaced. Is it even running on two speakers now? Please clarify. p.s., where in the Fingerlakes are you? We can compare Twins. (I've got a beat up '70 with EV's--sounds heavenly...)

Its got a pair of Jensens in it now....the Oxford needs to be reconed

Don't bother reconing the Oxford, especially since you don't have its brother/ sister. I totally recommend EV's and then you'd be set. (if you sold the Jensens and the blown Oxford you might just about break even and be able to pick up a nicely worn in pair of EV's.) Are you planning to hold on to the amp? Does it sound good now?

I sold my closet-kept '68 w/JBL's for $1K, so that sounds about right...the best cleans ever, but a back-breaker...
