Many an hour watching MASH. Was worried when Trapper John left
that his "replacement" would suck. Col. Potter did not disappoint.
Thanks for the laughs, and the humanity, in MASH.

RIP Harry.

Aww MAN.

Too many good-un's gone lately.
Harry was fantastic. in more than just the Potter role.

He was great in 'the shootist' with John Wayne.
Some of the great old westerns with James Garner.."Support your local..."

man. That saddens me.

Harry Morgan was great on MASH, but he did not replace "Trapper". He replaced Col. Blake.

That is a bummer about Morgan. RIP.

Oops, yep... got my characters mixed up.... oy! Thanks for the
correction...

yes, I liked Dragnet too... it's so funny how "stiff" cops were in those
older shows compared to today.

That was a good long life and some great memorable roles.

Do I correctly recall there was a short-lived post-MASH spinoff where he was a doc back in the states?

Called After M*A*S*H iirc. Co-starred Jamie Farr.

He was on television for my entire lifetime and I'm 60. Thanks for the memories especially for Support Your Local Sheriff and Dragnet. Long life hopefully well lived.

I like how he played a General on MASH before playing a Col.

He was in some of the all time classic films as well. High Noon, Inherit the Wind and the Ox-Bow Incident among others. And I always loved him with James Garner in Support Your Local Sheriff and Gunfighter.

Once he came into the shop through the back door and said in a loud voice "I'm looking for Tom D****". Tom and I turned around and there he was. There is no mistaking that voice. Anyway, Tom asked what he could do for him and he said "Nakamichi said that you're the only one that can fix my old 1000". Tom told him that he'd try to and Mr Morgan said "that's good enough for me". Tom fixed it, went to his house and hooked it back up and to this day, I think that deck is still working. Oh and Hot Lips (Loretta Swit) is a neighbor of his. She's nice too...

Out of all the celebrities we had as customers, the only ones Tom ever asked for an autograph from were Harry Morgan and Vincent Price. He has them framed above his desk.

RIP Mr Morgan

"I love to go swimmin' with bow-legged women and swim between their legs..." I can still hear Harry singing that song on M.A.S.H.
