I've been to ELP a bunch for business, but always seem to be in a hurry or on a day trip. Got a little longer trip planned and would like a great restaurant recommendation. I'm open to anything.
FWIW - I've been to the Great American Land and Cattle Co, and a S. American / fusion food spot near UTEP. Both of those were good, but curious what I might be missing.
Thanks!

If you have some time, then, you definitely got to have the steaks from Cattlemans Steakhouse. It's on the outskirts of El Paso (going East on I-10), they are the best and worth the drive. They are located in the middle of our remote desert. They've even been featured on TV, "World's Best Food" (or something like that; - http://www.cattlemanssteakhouse.com
Or try Carnitas Queretaro, 9077 Gateway Blvd (off I-10 West), Close to Cielo Vista Mall. Great Mexican food. → http://www.carnitas-queretaro.com
Bon Appetite!

Ardovino's has excellent pizza, H&H Carwash has solid greasy-spoon Mexican diner-type stuff, Jaxon's near the airport has decent food and good beer. I'm sure there are better places these days, but these were my favorites when I lived there years ago.

Oh yeah. I forgot about Jaxons. Their microbrews are pretty good.

Ardovino's Desert Crossing, or just the regular Ardovino's
Cappetto's
Cafe Central
Avila's
Carnitas Queretaro.
La Posta in Mesilla NM is badass.
And my favorite burger in the whole world...Charcoaler
I'm sure someone will recommend Chico's... I wouldn't

Love Charcoaler! And I'm not really fond of Chico's, but I get why it's iconic.
There are many choices of Mexican food. That's the best thing in El Paso. Just about any joint you find has good tacos, enchiladas, etc. I have my faves like Lucy's or the place by the cemetary.... Dang it! I forget what it's called!
If you like barbecue, the State Line is really good!

Indeed, they got a credit card machine last year. It was a big deal...

+1 on Lucy's and State Line.

Yep, State Line and Cattleman's are both excellent choices for a Texas steak dinner...
Personally, I lived there for 10 years. I was back in town last weekend for a friends funeral. In three days, I ONLY ate at Chico's Taco's.... but that's just me
