Ok. First I have a HD 500 and an 11R. At this time I am playing them through a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. Sounds decent. I am looking to take a step up. I have been reading about near field monitors. They would be good for mixing with Pro Tools. Could I also play my 11R through them? Would this be an upgrade to the Tech 21 PE?
It should be noted that I play at home only. As my living arrangements have changed I can now crank it up anytime during the day. Oh how sweet it is to glow the tubes in my amps. I have several tube amps but am not interested in playing my modelers through them. Each amp is set up for specific uses with specific guitars. That's what happens when you are retired and have way too much time on yor hands.
Any suggestions, ideas, solutions and or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Russ

If you are at home, and want to mix as well, just pick up a pair of studio monitors. They work great for the pod and expect they would for the eleven rack. Not as loud as a powered wedge but plenty loud for jamming at home and recording.

OK, your post is a little vague..........are you talking about playing out with a near field?
You can with the outs on the 500 and the 11R but why if you have the PE?
If your using them at home instead of the PE for monitoring your patch going to PT then monitors would be better for mixing. They would not keep up with a drummer (I'm talking small studio monitors here) Come on Lucy splain yourself.........

I've been running it through a single KRK Rokit 8 since I got it with good results.

I own an 11r and use Event 20/20p powered monitors. They sound fantastic with the 11r on it's own, and a pair in stereo makes a huge difference in both the sound of the 11r, and essential for recording(as opposed to a single monitor)

O.K. more defined question. Can I use a pair of the KRK Rokit 8's to record with the 11R and to play through directly with the Eleven R. So can I output the eleven R directly into the KRK 8's while I am playing guitar. I assume that this woulod give me a stero type sound. Is this correct?
I am willing to pull the trigger on a set of near field monitors if it will do this. Any suggestions on near field monitors is appreciated. And again this is ONLY for playing at home. Thanks Russ

Before to buy the KRK, if you get the chance, try the iKey Audio M808 v2. I had them side by side when I bought them and they were unbelievable.

Yes. Good choice. You might want to spend the big bucks and get the powered subwoofer that goes with the KRKs at some point as well. One is all you need of those.

I have the original Atomic 50W amp that also sounds great, but to save space in my home office, I am using monitors.

The original Atomic was the 18W with the Pod docking station on top, the 50W was already the 2nd generation
