20 vs 30 watt speakers?

    Doesn't seem like there should be a whole lot of difference. I'm looking at alnicos (2x10) for a 30 watt tweed amp. Headroom? Anything else?

    What, for something like a Super? Headroom and less of a chance the speakers would blow as, I'm sure you know, amps are rated very clean. So even 2x20W could be pushing it. Also some alnico mags get spongy very easily, so you may want a slightly higher power rating than the expected of that reason as well.

    There's way more difference between 2 different models, but if everything else is the same, lower wattage rating = brighter, higher rating = darker. We're talking fine subtleties here though at a 10w difference.

    Yes that is true, but it's +50%/ -33% power capacity so it's quite a step even so.
