So, about how long is the wait on the wait-list? I sent in my name today. And, any good TGP links to the reviews and feedbacks on the Axe-Fx II?

The wait-list is long, but they've ramped up production. Though the wait for the wait-list will still be really long. Like months.

As far as reviews and feedback, here's a link to the Fractal site: http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii/axe-fx-ii-reviews/

I have zero insight or knowledge of the wait list or anything production related.

However, I am a happy owner that gigs and records and have used the II (and the Standard and the Ultra before the II) in both capacities. Any specific questions you have about the II?

Maybe I'm missing something, but why do people wait on the waiting list so long?

I logged onto the site the day after I talked to Scott on the phone about the Axe....."in stock". Cool.

    Had it 4 days later.

Or you can waits months to save $400 [on a $2100 piece]. If it was $400 on a $1000 piece, maybe I could understand it.

Why not just pay the extra $400? :huh

[I'm sure I'll get the 'money doesn't grow on trees' thing, but the buyer was able to acquire over $2000...]

    What $400 will buy you:

4/5 of a new EV112XP powered monitor (using Guitar Center coupon for $100 off) = FRFR, done.
2/3 of a new MFC101 = foot control, almost there...
Rack, furman power conditioner, Rocktron midimate w/ 7 pin cable, $100 left over for good beer :)

Or to create yet ANOTHER vs. thread for no reason:
AxeFX II new (plus shipping) = ~$2635
Kemper new (free shipping from Sweetwater, free 2 year support) = $1850
    Difference = $785

    Just sayin...

To me $400 is worth waiting for.

If someone said to you, put your name on this list and in three months I'll give you $400 wouldn't you do it? If you just have to have an Axe II now then sure, spend the extra bucks, but to me getting it in early October instead of June was no big deal. I'd rather have the money. To put it in easy to understand terms, that 17 free cases of beer. ;)

Regarding the unit itself I'm quite happy with it so far. As others have said, I'm finding it easier to dial in than the Gen 1 units and there are tons of great tones in there.

At the moment, I couldn't be happier with it.

I would spend the extra money because I have more money than sense!!

I'm newly getting back into the modeling game, and see a bunch of 'waiting list' threads here and at the Fractal Forum [semi-complaints].

Was just making an observation and seeing if I was missing something.

    No offense intended.

    None taken. :)

It's a personal choice. There's no reason not to buy one now if that's what you want to do.

Let me see.... you live in Long Beach, right? As in, Long Beach, USA?

Have you perhaps considered that people outside the US don't even have the option of bying direct, at a higher price?

Just saying, and no offence intended.

As others have said, Fractal is giving consumers an option. Plus, I'll be using the wait time to consider and become more knowledgeable of other options such as the Kemper.

Just talk with a manager at a fedex store close to Fractal in New York and send it to him with signature required. You would have arranged with him to ship to your country once he receives it. Pay your duty fees when it gets to you. Done.

I wonder if I'll be able to appreciate the improvements over the Ultra and Standard since I don't have any experience with them. Meaning, I'm even considering buying a used Ultra at a very good price as well.

Contrasting the two could/would take hours to post up. Check your PM.
