I am not a big fan of Ed Roman.

I am, however, very curious about Jeff Terwilliger's JET guitars and have been for months (ask stashman -- we have exchanged e-mail on this topic).

So I have paid a certain amount of attention to Roman's site wherever it intersects JETs. For instance, this remark of his:

Even from, the very first Earlewood guitar that Jeff ever made. I can personally attest to that, because I have been it's only owner. I was impressed by it instantly and it will be a cold day in Hell when I sell it.

    Today, however, I find this:

    http://www.edroman.com/guitars/JET_for_sale.html

Notice the entry at the top.

    My question, gentlemen, is this:

If it's currently snowing in Hell, how long will it take for the coldfront to hit Austin, Texas?

We could stand a little relief.

He's been doing that for years. He pushed Heritage guitars for years until they wouldn't let him push them around and dropped him. Then all of a sudden they were junk.

    Nothing new.

Come on man. Dudes around these parts custom order guitars from the smaller boutique guys all the time. Then wait months for their arrival. Then for a week after they receive the guitar they post praises so lavish you'd think the guitar is the second coming of the holy grail.

Inevitably, somewhere along the line comes the emporium post:

XXXX for sale. Greatest guitar I ever owned but I have to sell it finance another build.

Ed Roman would probably sell his arms if there was enough profit in it for him.

Just seems to me that nothing is forever.
He wants to sell it. He can. I see nothing there that has him dogging Jet Guitars.

    Maybe he needs the cash?

I think it is the hyperbolic "it will be a cold day in hell" followed with "for sale" that is rubbing some the wrong way. Since it is coming from Ed Roman, I find it unsurprising.

I heard "ED ROMAN : VEGAS GUITAR KING" was going to be airing in the fall.

(Or am I as gullible as I am loveable?)

Like the "pedals that will never leave my board" thread being full of pedals that are just a year or so old. :)

    Those guitars look super gaudy.

not defending the guy at all but like someone mentioned, we all need money and how many ads in the emporium by very experienced members list their items as the best X I have ever owned...... I tend to keep the BEST and move the unnecessary . Not meant to antagonize the sellers but cmon. We all had the "swear I would never sell it moment". I had to sell my first tube amp that I bought in 1979 from a garage sale that I rode home on my bicycle 5 miles.( No, it wasnt snowing and yes, I had shoes!) It was a Danelectro DM25. When you are unemployed 500 bucks is 500 bucks. Sentamentality price on that amp is 30 years of ownership and a bunch of mowed lawns, first jams, gigs, cigarette burns, etc. I stashed my weed in this little pocket for the footswitch in the cab because I knew my mom would never clean the amp. Not less than than a week after I changed my hiding spot did I get busted! LOL

So Ed has changed is mind about how he feels about a piece of music equipment. Say it isn't so! That's impossible.
