I have an EH LPB1 I purchased at GC and think I'm going to return it and get the EP Booster. The LPB1 seems a little harsh sounding to me. Opinions welcome.

LPB1 is almost like an OD in a sense because it adds a lot of saturation and low end. The EP should be a lot more of a clean boost, and should be more flexible.

yes, id say youre making the right decision. the lpb1 is much harsher and less clean and smooth sounding than the ep booster. i own and love both but i agree with your accessment of the lpb1.

In the right place on you pedal board the LPB-1 is warmer and not harsh in any respect. It adds mids and bass to OD pedals. The EP Booster is a preamp and it breaks up similarly but sooner than the LPB-1.
