Heh, asking Master Volume from Greg is :eeks:eeks:eeks
My Masonette is from 2004 and there is some upgrade what can do (tone caps) but this is a more than good in stock.

Im getting today older UK made 4x12 Marshall w/ UK greenies so lets see hows that sounds :drool

Masonette is not too loud for me, i can play with it w/o earplugs ;)

I agree with you on the Masonette, I too wish he would re-release it.

BUT- Greg won't do master volumes and I'd be VERY surprised if he changed his mind.

You sir, are a gentleman! I'd love to be able to repay the favor one day. Great demo!

I still like the Paisley and the Ecstasy, it's difficult to determine which one would suit me best. They both sound good. I'll need to listen a few more times, I think.

The blackface pedal is interesting also. It's not often you see someone demo-ing a
pedal for blackface style tones on a Marshall style amp! Mostly it's the other way around.

    Thanks much Samtheman! :beer

    Great tones in both vids.
    The Wampler Pinnacle is intriguing.

I'd be interested to know what you like about the Pinnacle, Jim. Is it the higher gain available? Do you play higher gain stuff?

I had a Germino Lead 55 LoVo- Great amp and had those tones with the option of either EL34s or 6V6s- But even 6V6s cranked for about 25w without a master volume is loud in some situations.

I have an Aiken Intruder 30w which produces tones very similar to the Germino I had- but has the MV.

The sound of the amp, although great, was far overshadowed by your incredible playing. It wouldn't matter what amp you were playing through.
I know this is the Gear Page, but THIS is what it's really all about. Not the equipment --- the player. You, man, are something else!

    Very, very nice! :dude

The Masonette was the amp that first turned my head to Germino amps. All of his amps are just beautiful. I do wish he'd re-introduce this model.

I just bought one of these and I was wondering if it is loud enOugh when you keep the amp clean and run pedals for a more diverse setup?

With JJ 6V6 Masonette has plenty of headroom for me, now I use Tung-Sol 6V6GT´s RI..

Awesome! Your demos are the reason I bought this amp! I haven't heard "the Marshall sound in my head" till I heard your recordings. And what's awesome is its not nasty treble when your plugged into only the treble channel so if I want a more round JTM sound I'm sure jumping the channels will do the trick. It seems like it takes pedals pretty well too. Would you say it's finicky with pedals or everything pretty much sounds good through it?

Who knows if you can use a 5u4gb tube rectifier in this amp without any crazy mods?

    Thanks,
    Stefan

I think you can run 6V6s with some low wattage Plexi circuits ie Aiken Intruder 30w
