    Good choice SLO,

Gary gave me some "alignment" that really helped.
I was running buckers with my preamp gain too high........
Backed that off to around 4-5 and adjusted Tone to taste and it really smoothed out the OD.......
.... plus getting a few hours on her didn't hurt either. ;)

You can jump the loop and I usually run around 12 o'clock.
I believe the manual gives you some guidance on some of this stuff.

I find that this amp loves lower output pickups...putting my
EB Albert Lee through this thing always puts a smile on my face..... amazing articulate, crunchy tone you can taste....
Thats right!....You can taste it! :drink

Brown Ostrich Dave......and it looks "bitchin"

I picked this originally then decided to match your SodII cuz I love that light cane with the black taurus..........

One thing lead to another and ended up with the Ostrich.

    Very classy look! ;)

    I built both a 50w and 100w ODS clone.
The 100w gets all the play time now.

I'll echo what everybody said, bigger, thicker, chewier, more girth, just more of everything.
The dynamics are just as good if not better because of more head room.
When playing the clean channel, the amp seems to have more punch to it on attack.
When at gigging volume, you can feel it in your chest.

The 50w amp is definitely a good amp.
In fact, in some ways I like the way that amp sounds on a solo better. Seems to cut through a little better.
For me right now it's just a hassle to hook everything up to it.
I'd rather just throw a switch and play.

Now on to the differences in the build.
You have the increased cost of the build. (two more power tubes, sockets, resistors, wire, bigger iron.)
A commercial builder has to charge for this added labor to install the extra stuff.
So you have the material cost plus labor to go from 50w to 100w.

Then when it comes time to retube, you will pay twice the amount since you have double the number of power tubes.

    Shiipping wieght runs 57 pounds.

Amp alone about 52 to 53. Not too bad to handle.

That was the first amp of the visit to the Glaswerks room. I was so stoked to meet Gary and his crew and finally play the new flavors of the Zingaros as well as the SOD IIs.

2 hours of sleep and 8 cups of coffee and this is what you get.

The SOD II with the AZ Bluesman just melted paint...Gary had some really cool speaker variants to go along with the different amps as well.

The "crew". My two sons, Ryan and Travis. They did a good job of pawning all questions off on me :).
