Should be out right after the variax hd update, right? Say, 2015-ish? :)

Why not? It's about time for a hardware update, the HD500's shortcomings are well known. I'd hope that there's more than just additional DSP and LED rings.

I think Line 6 has grown as a company with new personnel in the past year, I expect some interesting things from them between the Variax HD, updated Pod HD's, etc. If this next generation of Pod HD's support custom IRs along with the expanded DSP, the gap will be bridged pretty significantly, IMO.

    Maybe they'll have a "fizz on/off" switch!

Two months ago I damaged my pod hd 500. I used the guitar center pro coverage and turned it in for them to repair. They ended up giving me my money back because line 6 was no longer producing the parts to repair it. The part they were referring to was the actual chassis. Since then I've held onto my guitar center gift card in hopes of seeing the next one coming out soon.

Maybe it'll be this fall because don't they usually release new products during the back to school weeks?

Heres a twitter posting from the same shop.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/Baxshop/status/344475361872072706

Translated: Line 6 POD introduces the HD500X. 2x more powerful than the POD HD500 and with new features. Check: bit.ly/11EQx2A

@ Baxshop also bass modeling? Or is the bassist line6 completely lost sight

@ Benjiderooij There is 1 bass model in, plus 8 selectable microphone positions. But they focus more on the POD HD500 + the guitarist.

That is really lame, as far as i'm concerned. Not that GC gave you a refund (that's excellent and the pro coverage was worth it!). But that L6 isn't making parts for repairing the flagship product? :boxer

If that means enough processor power to run the dual amp setup properly then it's a huge move forward and adds al sorts of capabilities.

kinda dissapointed theres no real improvement to custom loadable impulses, as that is what I feel is a major difference between the Pod HD and stepping up into Axe-FX/Kemper levels.. to me, the HD only had one "good" cab. but eh, I hope theres more advancements in the past 3 years than just this..
