    Hi There,

The title says it all really. I have a multimeter - just need to kow where to put the prongs? Does the pot need to be removed from the circuit to measure it?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The resistive element is the outer two lugs and yes you can't have anything connected that would change the value. So the one outer lug is bent back and soldered to ground and the other outer lug has whatever connection that you must remove before measuring. You'll then measure from that isolated lug to the back of the pot (where the other lug is grounded).

Right, measure across the two outside lugs and yes, the pickup has to be disconnnected.

*Note* Be sure you have the potentiometer turned all the way up, you can get skewed readings when it's not wide open.
