Dan Gilbert, who has been teaching at MI for 32 years, and is an absolutely amazing and monstrous guitar player, is just finishing his new CD. He has been recording guitars and KBDS at my studio and I am mixing the CD even as I type! lol ..but seriously this is a guy who has played with Frank Gambale and Larry Carlton, and so many amazing talents, and is absolutely a stunning player. He recorded the entire CD with no fx/pedals. One amp, a bunch of guitars, great hands and great playing. It has been inspirational working on it with him and definitely worth hearing when it comes out!

I remember him from MI (before it was MI), way back in 1979. He was great then and I'm sure he's even better now. Nice guy too. I'm in for a copy when it comes out.

I've seen some of his YouTube clips and really like his playing. I'm thinking his CD is probably killer!

Had too much fun in his rhythm guitar and single string improv classes back in the day.

Can't wait to hear what ol' Dan is up to these days.

Dan is really great. I've been teaching alongside of him at MI for about eight years and we played in a band together. I'm looking forward to hearing this

Tonight I am proud to be finishing mixing Daniel Gilbert 's new CD "Before the sunrise" Dan Recorded all the guitars here and we even did some KBD tracking with another of my musical heroes Russell Ferrante who played on two tracks here in studio Le marche!!! It is a great piece and I know he is mastering it soon so look for a near future release of a great Guitar CD!!:band

I don't get it. Right off the bat he is playing out of time with the backing on those triads at the very start. Can't he hear it?
