I'm looking for info about Modulus guitars - their website only lists bass guitars with no mention of guitars.. although I see many artists playing them, like Bob Weir, Hunter Brown (STS9) etc. There's also one for sale in the Emporium right now. Where can I get info about their (non bass) guitars?

The semi-hollows (the one pictured above and another one) were custom built for Bob Weir. Don't know much else about Modulus guitars. Their standard models (Strat-like with a graphite neck) were only built for a short time before the company decided to build basses only...

I like the idea of a graphite neck. Any idea what fretboard material they usually use?

Modulus made basses for a long time before they tried their hand at guitars. Apparently, the guitar end of things didn't go as well as the bass production has and they ceased to make guitars after a few years.

I used to own a Genesis strat with the graphite neck sandwiched between two types of wood. It was a beautiful guitar, very well made, never went out of tune and, was very sterile sounding. I swapped pups many times trying to warm this thing up but, it never happened. I eventually let it go. Resale value on Modulus guitars is pretty low and still seems that way.

BTW, Dozin, wicked guitar! Must have been a custom order? Also, welcome to TGP!

Dozine, that is one spectacular guitar (but you know that already) Mine is one of my favorites but is just black (but still a wonder to play).

I ordered the guitar from the guy that built Weir's guitar(s). Got lucky.

Got lucky with this one too.

Wow, that back is insane. I didn't even notice that the headstock didn't say Modulus. Very cool. Does this guy still make these on order?

Dozin - both of those guitars are beautiful! Congrats on your great taste in instruments. Keep the info coming. For a second there, I thought you were Bob Weir himself LOL. If anyone knows of a Modulus (Genesis or similar) in the Vancouver area for sale, I'm all ears.

Ive always loved Bobs Modulus guitars. Both the blackknife with the sharper headstock and the custom blue semi hollow have always been up there with the coolest looking guitars around for me.
