Hey guys, I have a tom anderson strat, and I'm hoping to find a pedal to fatten it up slightly. Looking for something that kind of beefs things up, it doesn't need to have a lot of gain or anything, just to kind of balance out the thinner strat tone. I use a carr rambler and my main other ODs are an AC booster and a maxon od820. I've been trying out the fat boost 2, the newest one, and haven't liked it, sounds too mushy and doesn't really fatten up much to my ears.
    Thanks,
    Kurt

RC boost is probably a good bet as it will allow you to dial in a bit of extra bass should you need it. Super chili picoso from catalinbread is a no-EQ clean boost that serves a similar purpose.

That's my choice. I just got a Dr. Z KT-45 combo today and did a lot of test driving with various pedals. My favorite pedal was the RC Boost and it really loved my Anderson Droptop's neck pickup.

A modded Boss Eq, you can add a bit of boost and define it with boosting/cutting frequencies.

I really like using the ZVex Box of Rock *boost* side for this type of thing.

I appreciate it guys, thanks so much!! I had a couple questions, first, I worry since the RC has no mid control, I'm almost wanting a bit more fatness in the low mids you know? I've not heard of the demeter, but it sounds like maybe it'd work. I wouldn't mind a bit of light drive that could be dialed in if need be, that or a maybe a dual pedal, a light drive and more of a clean booster side. So many options, and no place to try them!!!
    Thanks all,
    Kurt

That's why a good eq can work, just pick the frequencies you want to target and cut/boost. Plus, the level control can add a nice boost.

I use two modded Sniper/Boss eqs. I use one with my strats to shape those and add a bit of boost to better match humbuckers. When I switch to humbuckers, I use another to cut the mud on neck humbuckers.

I use this primarily when I play my strat.

Well, I work the casino circuit, with one band doing clasic rock and some country, and the other doing funk and R&B stuff. I'm wanting sort of a brent masonish tone, that slightly pushed fat sound. How would something like the Kot do for this? Is there a slightly more economical option than the $400 those are fetching?
    Thanks,
    Kurt

I might go with an MJM Blues Devil or perhaps a Zendrive...

I'd go with the AC Booster. More tonal options than the RC. IMO

Pretty much any clean boost/light OD will fill your signal out. I'd recommend the Catalinbread SCP, BJF Red Rooster or Baby Pink Booster (if you can get your hands on either), or a BJF Sea Blue EQ...actually, although it might be a TGP sin, I'd even recommend an MXR Micro Amp if you're not a tone snob. One of my fav pedals from a long time ago!

Personally I've found that when guys are trying to fatten up a Strat it often turns out they're lacking mids. The Demeter is the best thing I've found that does this.

You know that nifty control in Tyler Guitars that everyone loves called the Mid-Boost Pre-Amp ..... well this is that control in a pedal.
