So, while I love the looks and vintage sound of my SG Supreme, the grover tuners make it head stock-heavy, and also the nylon dunlop strap I was using just wasn't keeping it as stable as I would like when standing up. This is the guitar in question: So, after asking a few people, two main things I could do came up: get a suede leather strap that wouldn't slip on my shoulder, and reduce the weight of the headstock. I decided to do both, so I googled, and found some Ebony replacement buttons for grover up at Elderly instruments, and also got a Levy's seude strap, as well as some more schaller straplocks, because I needed an extra pair, and it would mean I didn't have to remove the locks from the old strap. and the tuner pegs, before, during, and after. End result? NO MORE NECK DIVE! Also I think the ebony tuner buttons look snazzy. as far as I can tell they are actual ebony wood, with a metal insert in the bottom/collar that goes around the tuner shaft. They are definitely lighter than the solid metal stock tuner buttons.
