Wasn't there an English guy in 'The Jeffersons' that was kind of like Holdsworth?

I met Sherman in the late 80s. He used to come into the GC on Sunset where I worked all the time. We BSed and talked keyboards a lot. He's a cool cat.

Anyone who used to hang out on places like rec.music.progressive and alt.music.yes on Usenet has known for a long time that Hemsley was a Yes fan.

I remember reading Horace Silver's autobiography, where he mentioned meeting Sherman Hemsley during his progressive era and discovering that he was a big fan of his United States Of Mind album. He mentioned that Sherman wanted to do some type of collaboration with him, but it didn't pan out.

    Interesting stuff.

I'm not buying into this for a second--not the fact that he likes Gong, but Flying Teapot on a loop and all the rest? Poppycock.

Let me just say through my associations back then, that article is 100% correct in my observation regarding Sherman's lifestyle and his croonies. Saw it first hand numerous times... pretty whacked out! And I'll leave it at that.
