Poll: Which do you prefer?
sonic sounds better
Sonic, mine is almost done. Sprayed the clear and waiting to polish
I really like them both - and they cange so much depending on age and how they have been kept.
But I gotta go with sonic..Here's my Nitro custom Tele
I'll post it all day long:
My '96 american standard in Sonic Blue
Sonic blue partsocaster.
Surf Green gotta be the bluest blue in a green guitar I've ever seen.
This should be here on Wednesday. K Line Sonic Blue.
Sonic is a great color, i love it but it's also just "normal" IMHO. Daph' Blue is kind of a crazy color with some depth, it makes you look a few times and catches the eye and looks great espcially on relic'ed, green guard Fenders. I've owned both and prefer the wacky color more; I find it exillerating to be in tue minority and uncommon by that's just me.
My Daphne Blue Tele build should be done in a few weeks and I can't wait! I agree with the poster above... Something a bit deeper and more mysterious in the Daphne than the Sonic.... (Plus with a nice Pinup girl sticker on my Headstock, I can name her Daphne which sounds better than Sonic to me)
I can't answer! This pic doesn't match the sonic blue you guys are posting:
One thing about Sonic is it gives the guitar a top end sparkle, Daphne accentuates the low mids more......Sonic and Daphne are used loosely all the time. DuPont has the original formulas still posted and the above guitar that wagster shows is true sonic with a touch more white to slightly fade it out. Daphne is the two strats shown above as well.
I have a sweet rosewood board '09 Fender SE American Standard Tele in daphne blue with matching color headstock,so my biased pick is daphne blue.
I probably like Sonic slightly better (most of the time), but mine's Daphne (Suhr Classic)...
I think he's kidding
sonic blue is my favorite Fender custom color, followed by sherwood green. . .
Without smilies you never know around here.
I think that one of the reasons that daphne and sonic are all over the place are the settings of the camera used. I have basically the same strat as the one on the left, and mine looks completely different. I took mine without a flash, in natural light and it looks alot lighter. If I took the same pic with a flash, the color looks alot darker. Makes it tricksy...
