I have a Tremolo pedal in the mail and I'm wondering if I should place it before or after my delay. I have no reverb pedal so that's not in the equation. Obviously I need to try both positions myself but I would like to know what the general consensus is.

    Thanks

Yep, I use mine before delay too as a general rule. But, I don't usually have trem + delay on at the same time, so for me it usually doesn't matter.

I always run it before. You could probably get some cool, more far-out sounds by running after, and tremolo'ing your echos but for traditional tones before is the key.

I use delay like a light echo, so it's gotta be the last thing for me. Never really even considered trem after until I saw pics of boards doing that on here.

After for me, just like on my amp (a Fender SRRI): reverb (or delay, in this case) followed by tremolo.

I have mine after, but like an earlier post said before, I don't have them on at the same time.

I think a key (as with any effect order) is do you want the delay to be the prominent effect or the tremolo?

I had mine before delay for a long time, but I found that I really like a hard cut (square wave) on my trem, so I moved it after and was really pleased with the effect of delay being chopped up.

I usually go trem before delay my friend. What kind of trem did you get?

I like the sound of it after delay. But after reading some of the other post, I have to say I'm intrigued by what it sounds like to hear the trem pulses repeated. More board rewiring in my future!

What do you want to be able to accomplish musically?

(I know such a dumb question!)

Do you want to be able to perforate your delayed sounds or do you want to delay your amplitude modulated sounds?

Only you can know that. I don't know what you want for lunch either.

Recently discovered it sounds way better after to me, just like you'd find it on an amp. I find the delay gets sloppy running trem right in at more extreme settings. After sounds way more natural and ambient when combined with delay, imo.
