I'm wondering what gauge strings are preferred here for rock/blues (not jazz) on a 335 style guitar. I generally play Fender style guitars and use 10-46's.

Think maybe "regular" 11's might best best for the first set of new strings but wondering whether perhaps the consensus is to stick to 10s.

I dunno, I use 10s on everything! It's easier when you buy strings.

My '66 335 is just about perfect with .11s. Seems to be no downside in playability, while it just sounds better with heavier strings.

    On my 535 I use EB's 11-48 or Fender Nickels 150R 10-46.

I just switched to 10s from 12s on my Sheraton. Needed more bend range, but the 12s do sound meatier and more clangy

Generally I use Gibson Vintage Reissue 10-46 but have used D'Addarios 10-46 on some 335s.

One of the 335s I have now does equally well with either.

11's are the standard size for that guitar. However, pro's use everything from 9's and up. Depends on the type of tone you like.

I am very pleased with Thomastic jazz/blues. Expensive, but they sound great and last for months. I have tried several standard brands but much happier with Thomastics.Jeffs strings carries them.

Not according to Gibson. They ship with 10-46.
