I came across this link of them doing "I'm Coming Home" on You Tube from the European tour they did in 1969 and was thinking what ever happened to them after that. In the band on stage in this clip we have:

    Bonnie on Vocals
    Delaney on guitar and vocals
    Eric Clapton on guitar
    George Harrison on guitar
    Carl Radle on bass
    Jim Gordon on drums
    Bobby Whitlock on organ
    Billy Preston on piano
    Bobby Keys on saxaphone
    Jim Price on trumpet

and an unknown to me anyway, trumpeter.
All of these players were either already successful in their own right or else went on to be in the Dominoes like Radle, Gordon, Whitlock or the Beatles for Billy Preston and the Rolling Stones for Bobby Keys and Jim Price but can anyone say why Delaney and Bonnie just seemed to have dropped of the face of the earth since those days?.

I'm pretty sure the trumpet player is Jim Price. He also played on alot of the Stones albums in the late '60's early '70's.

some of my favorite Clapton work was with D&B. I had the original D&B and Friends album way back on vinyl, this one's a little different but mostly the same material: http://www.amazon.com/Delaney-Bonnie-Tour-Eric-Clapton/dp/B000002IAS

D&B split up soon after that I think, Delaney did a bunch of production work for Clapton and others.

I just recently bought the Greatest Hits CD off of Amazon.. highly recommended.. I like "When This Battle Is Over" and "Superstar".. Delaney was a central figure in Claptons autobiography, EC gives credit to DB for getting him out of a sidemans rut and taking over vocals.. Bonnie has a great, great set of pipes.. I listen to that CD all the time..

Somewhere on my computer is a pic of Bonnie sitting in with Lonnie Mack from a couple years ago, and she looks great and from what I heard from one who was there sounded great as well. If I can just find that dang picture...

Bonnie can STILL belt it out! I was in the studio in Nashville with John Oates for his new solo record back in March. Bonnie was there along with her daughter Bekka. Bekka is AMAZING!!!

That Bobby Whitlock thread ref'ed above is amazing - only about 8 pages into it (it's dozens of pages long), but the memories being shared are a national treasure!

If only Trisonic's intro thread here hadn't gotten nuked a couple of years ago we'd have something to compete with... :)

IMHO, Delaney and Bonnie deserve much credit for getting Clapton back on track and steering his career towards a more country blues/rock/folk direction on his first solo album, and ultimately D&D. Some of my favorite Clapton related music comes from that period of time.

Bobby Whitlock's thread is a treasure trove for anyone even remotely into the Derek and the Dominoes days.

Last time I saw Bonnie was about four years ago. She can still belt it out:

I just saw your post. Delaney has a new CD out, "A New Kind of Blues" available on the Magnolia Gold Label.
I have been working with Delaney for the last year.

    Visit Delaney's myspace page. www.myspace.com/delaneybramlett.

This CD is being considered for a Grammy nomination.

"A New Kind Of Blues" has received critical acclaim from dozens of Magazines and currently is in Blues Revue Magazine with a stellar review.

If I can be of anymore help feel free to contact me.

People have differences of opinion and go their separate ways for whatever reasons.
    Don't believe all the rumors.
