What's the most amp-like and best sounding???
Try the Menatone KotB or WMB. www.menatone.com
I thought the Howie by Menatone did a pretty good job as well.
I tried a KOTB once...i was highly disappointed...but it was an older 5-knob version
i'm pretty impressed with my MI Audio Crunch Box. It sounds damn good! I've been playing 80's hair metal and GNR ever since it arrived! Sounds good boosted with the FoxRox ZIM too.
I've been getting good stuff from my tonebone hot british for years. It has a ton of gain on tap, so I usually keep the gain around 1 or 2 (!). I bought it for the EQ options and haven't looked back (great EQ options, can match it to well to most rigs IMHO). Good luck with your hunt!
+10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 for Menatone KotB
Barber BU EQ
What's a good modern british sounding pedal..more 80's/JCM than plexi
mi audio crunch box.
hmm... if it has to be british, I'd say this one:
lovepedal purple plexi
As stated by utterhack......Blackstar H-Dist...Pure British distortion in spades...beats the pants of my Tonebone
but... Fetto Deluxe.
I've had the Crunchbox and KOTB and both were great but I still prefer my Tonebone Hot British for the 80's hot rodded Marshall tones. The only downside to the HB is the size and wall wart.
That looks awfully cool. How much and where?
I get all I want out of an Emma Reezafratzitz
I had a ReezaFratZitz and a BJF BBOD at the same time. Thought they were both very similar sounding....in a great way!
